I pretty much trust FReeper information over a lot of other sources, so wanted to get your opinions in today's runoffs for my region. Plus, with such a varied membership, I thought I could plug into some first hand knowledge on the few candidates up for election.
County Tax Assessor-Collector (Unexpired Term)

Mike Snyder
I know Snyder has the name recognition as a news anchor, but what is his world view? Don't know much about Burgess. Any thoughts and reasons to vote either way?
I have very little resources for finding out about judgeships. I know these are important, although the tend to be obscure:
District Judge, 342nd Judicial District (Unexpired Term)
Pat Gallagher
Kimberly Fitzpatrick
???
Judge, County Probate Court-at-Law No. 1
Patricia Cole
Chris Ponder
Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 4

I do tend to prefer men in judicial positions, all else being equal, because of the emotion that is often interjected by women.
Any help is appreciated. Want my vote to count.
Mike Snyder got run out of his job because he served as master of ceremonies at a Republican campaign rally. From what I know of him, good man, conservative.
BTW, Don’t know anything about Wendy Burgess other than what’s out there - long-time politician.
Conservatism is important, but so is administrative skills in the Tax Assessor position. We’ve had problems in the past because of it.
Snyder hasn’t been on the air in nearly 20 years right? He and Jane McScarry (she is a vile, evil woman).....anyways.
I remember Snyder being benched for a while for his right wing views interloping with the newscast or something and there was something there about him retiring from news. No scandals, just brazen conservatism (Like Chris Alcedo who is on the radio now (used to report for chan. 5 as well.
I would vote for him if I were in Tarrant. He does a lot of work for children’s and local charities.
That’s about all I know of Snyder. I remember watching Harold Taft do the weather.
Snyder is my inclination as well. I knew he had a conservative reputation, and if his job was scaled back because of it, all the more reason.

I’ve known Mike for 40+ years, and he is a good and decent family man. He leans concervative and hates government corruption.
