SANTA FE, Texas (CBS) — An exchange student and two substitute teachers were among the 10 people killed during the shooting at Santa Fe High School in Galveston County, Texas. Ten people were also injured Friday in what Texas Governor Greg Abbott described as “one of the most heinous attacks that we’ve ever seen in the history of Texas schools.”

CBS News reports the suspected shooter has been identified as 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis. Pagourtzis has been booked into the Galveston County jail and is being held without bond on charges of capital murder and aggravated assault of a peace officer. Additional charges may follow, the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office said.

Here are the victims of the shooting:

“...an exchange student with YES, which is funded by the U.S. State Department. It provides scholarships for secondary school students from countries with significant Muslim populations...”

Sad to see any student killed, but do Muslim countries have scholarship programs for Christian students? We know the answer.

Texas has no problem putting down animals. This one should be put down by hanging from the school’s flagpole, and left there forever.

The early reports on the shooting said that each entrance had armed security personnel. Did anyone else hear that? Why aren’t the schools secure yet? A code red is meant to lock down each class. Lock the doors, hide out of sight of any windows. Pulling a fire alarm is sending people into a firing zone, which seems to have happened. I just can’t understand how someone can get a shotgun into a school after Parkland.

This headline kind of irks me. Does
it really matter that the victims were
substitute teachers, or exchange
students? This immature, 15 minutes of
fame hunting murderer, should be shot
at sunrise. His weapons didn’t pull
their own triggers. I have no pity for
this waco.

We just had a home security system installed (came with a reduced-fee cable package). So we’re getting better cable at a lower price - plus security and then I added a smoke detector.

“So the smoke alarm will give a different alarm than the window getting broken?”

“Oh no. It is all the same alarm - VERY loud.”

“I’m sure it is. But isn’t it kind of stupid to have the same alarm? At two in the morning I’m going to have one type of response for the broken window - and a completely different response for the fire alarm!”

The early reports on the shooting said that each entrance had armed security personnel.

I doubt "each entrance" had a security guard as there were only two Resource officers assigned to this school(reportedly)These sprawling suburban schools have many fire exits which are designed as one way exits can be propped open or tampered to allowed outside entrance. (I and my friend did this many times at school and getting movie theaters without paying or attend R rated movies.)

Another thing. Liberal are so worried about the AR-15 "weapon of War' being too dangerous for public use. I and many others countered that a shotgun was far more deadly and cause more fatalities as it was designed to kill per load as opposed to the .223 round was designed to cause more wounds to knock out as enemy soldiers.(One wounded+four to carry, care for said wounded soldier = five soldiers off the front line)

Interested in the shots fired versus the actual victims(Yes it is a bit morbib but is important)

So why is the Obama DOJ involved in bringing muslims for education here at tax payer expense?

Who the heck allowed him to do that?

And now they are treating it as some kind of special royalty which was shot. Bunch of retards. What about the other kids? Why has America anointed kids programs?

Heard a radio news brief announcement a short while ago that he claims to have spared people he liked.

Doesn’t mean that he particularly targeted any of these victims, just that his rampage was not indiscriminate firing.

Reports earlier this week said that he’s 17 and not eligible for the death penalty.

>>Pulling a fire alarm is sending people into a firing zone, which seems to have happened.

A report I read earlier this week had a teacher claiming that he (or she) pulled the alarm (or it was a statement from a student that their teacher pulled the alarm as they couldn’t get their cellphones to dial 911, something else that was said).

>> each entrance had armed security personnel.

Not to suggest alternatives, but if the school building is protected, the killer will find a way.

Two things must happen: 1) armed teachers, and 2) stop coddling

The Sante Fe punk thought he was entitled to kill for being rejected... by a girl.

The publix schools need to be put down. You cannot do this without a cohesive moral society.

I agree with armed school personnel including teachers and janitors if they can qualify.

Punishment, that is the next step in deterrence. I know Texas is likely to execute such criminals. My ideal would be to speed the process up to weeks from conviction to death. Add onto that a public execution, with schools required to show this to their students nationwide. Make sure death is drilled into their heads as both real, and permanent. A lot of people play so many video games, and are disconnected from the harvest of food, that they think they just hit “RESET” and begin again.
