Yes, the terms glucose and dextrose refer to the same chemical, but the term dextrose is referring to the sugar in its crystalline form. So it is similar to referring to water as ice. In the bloodstream the sugar is not in a crystalline form which it is why it is called glucose.

Looking it up, I see that even this is just more of a general guideline. There are references to a “dextrose solution” which is obviously not in a crystalline form. So “never mind!”.
