I was in DFW airport once upon a time, with a tenor saxophone in a flight case. Someone actually asked me, 'Is that a gun?'
I said no, something much more dangerous. A saxophone.

I helped an elderly Chinese gent at an airport security check. He was trying to carry on an expensive tonearm for a record player. The screener didn’t know what it was and the old gent didn’t speak English. A good tonearm can cost several thousand $. I just saw a complete high-end Clearaudio turntable with an upgraded tonearm offered for $52,000.
