WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump berated Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen in a dispiriting Cabinet meeting on immigration Wednesday, according to three administration officials, but her colleagues denied reports that she has threatened to quit.
Trump lashed out at his Cabinet, and Nielsen in particular, when told that the number of people arrested for illegally crossing the Mexico border topped 50,000 for the second consecutive month. The blowup lasted more than 30 minutes, according to a person with knowledge of what transpired, as Trump's face reddened and he raised his voice, saying Nielsen needed to "close down" the border

Let's say, for arguments sake, that when Nielsen responded to the President that she was telling him the truth:
Nielsen battled back, one person said, telling Trump that laws limit some of what she could do to block the flow of undocumented immigrants.
And then, Sessions, chiming in:
Attorney General Jeff Sessions defended her, saying the administration was looking for new ways to deter illegal crossings.
------------------------------------------ One of the reasons I come on and comment on FR is because there are so many knowledgeable folks on here. So, with that being said, is our border, our laws and procedures regarding border enforcement and how these 3rd world savages HAVE to be treated, so broken that the government has no control over anything. Especially the ONE thing it is REQUIRED to do, per the Constitution. We can't just turn them around, kick them in the ass and send them back? We can't just just have 24hr courts at each border station/crossing, like they have judges at stadiums and during large scale events, to handle a large number of cases, so they can dismiss asylum claims, right then and there?
Mr. President, we’re counting on you to save our nation. Please stop appointing women to high office.
Whoever is protecting our borders needs to have a warrior’s heart.
Trump signed the omnibus spending bill that doesn’t support building new parts of the wall and only spends a billion on border security.
Point out the law...and then change it.
Our problem isn’t so much “immigration” anymore as it is “occupation”.
Oh the horror! The boss is insisting on results.

10 May: Breitbart: Expert: DHS Sec Kirstjen Nielsen Made Colossal Mistake in Inviting Foreign Nationals to Come to Ports of Entry
by John Binder
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen made a colossal mistake when she began inviting foreign nationals to use the ports of entry to enter the United States legally, an expert tells SiriusXMs Breitbart News Tonight.
Center for Immigration Studies Director of Policy Jessica Vaughan told Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Rebecca Mansour that Nielsens testimony this week in which she pleaded with foreign nationals not to enter the U.S. illegally and instead come to the ports of entry to seek asylum was the classic mixed message on immigration.
During her testimony, Nielsen said to potential border-crossers and asylum-seekers:
“If you are fleeing and you have a need to come to the United States, please come to the ports of entry. You know, we will process your claim there. But if you come across the border illegally, youve broken the law and we have to prosecute. Its the only way to keep our border, to have a border.” [Emphasis added]...

Others knowledgeable about this meeting and the law will answer your questions. I believe this is a leadership issue.
President Trump seems to always be saying; “Don’t tell me why you can’t do your job. Tell me how you are getting it done.” His department heads all need to understand that their jobs are to cut through Gordian knots, not to be stopped by them.
You have got to be kidding me.
Your misogynistic statement is unfounded by data. Let’s have data and analyze it before coming to such a conclusion.
I don’t know where you get the idea women (some, a few, many, a lot or all?) are not warriors. I am almost 80 and I have found the numbers of “warriors” to be about equal between men and women.
How old are you anyway?
I think the general decline of our culture as women abandon their newborns and take up careers is evidence enough.
Illegal immigration has dropped dramatically since Trump took office. Yet Nielsen is both "peforming a miracle" and performing so badly she's about to quit (which she has already denied)?
This is just more fake news.
I happened to watch her testimony this week on YouTube last night. She was responding to hectoring by Kamala Harris. I thought she did a pretty good job.
The articles characterization was unfair and deceptive.

The 2017 slowdown in border arrests only happened because illegal immigrants thought Trump was serious about enforcing our current immigration laws.
However, after his election, Trump has made it clear that he is only going to deport illegals who are felons or gang members.
Trump has done some positive things about immigration.
He has modestly reduced the number of “Refugees” we accept each year. He has stripped “Temporary Protective Status” from several countries like Honduras, but they don't have to leave for 18 months, and they can also apply for Green Cards. And, Trump has staged several high profile raids on illegal job sites.
However, the total number of new legal immigrants, new Green cards, and H-1B and OPT work visas under Trump is almost the same as Obama’s number in 2016.
Bottom Line - no one should be surprised that border arrests surged at exactly the same time Trump offered Amnesty and citizenship to 1.8 million DACAs in exchange for a Border Wall.
Women, generally, suck at stuff they weren’t designed for, and vice versa.
Tell me I’m “misogynistic”. I will pass your complaint to a Higher Authority.
Then tell my wife. She may favor you with a gale of derisive laughter, or a thin-lipped head-shake, depending what time of the month it is.
That monthly situation, by the way, is one of the disqualifiers of women for offices and roles like this.
Talk is cheap. Back up border security with military power that is massive in the tens of thousands instead of berating and threatening countries like Iran to please foreign governments.
On top of everything you just said, correct on all of it, is that within those 18 months -the next 9 months, to be exact- the women just have to get pregnant and pop out a citizen. Once that kid comes out, it’s a citizen and because of family unification, everyone stays.
Getting rid of the draw, Birthright Citizenship and the benefits that come with it, and denying them the ability to send over $24,000,000,000.00, enforcing EVerify, ends all of this, almost immediately. No reason to come here if there isn’t a financial benefit.
Toss in, eliminating the refugee program for everyone, unless we’re the ones that caused the problem, and with some serious and major stipulations(only temporary, no greeen cards, no citizenship, sent back home or to a “safe zone” as soon as it’s feasible), and the problem solves itself.
“Mr. President, were counting on you to save our nation. Please stop appointing women to high office.”
They seem to have the same problem in Europe, and now look what’s happening there.
There no room for ‘compassion’ here - these people are GAMING the system. It’s all=out war, with Leftist Amperican lawyers now in their home countries telling them EXACTLY what to do and EXACTLY what to say.
If her ‘compassion’ prevents her from accepting that reality, perhaps it’s time to find someone that can accept it.
Agreed.
Two steps to stopping the flow...
Step 1: Just turn them around at the border or port of entry and tell them to head to the nearest US consulate, in THEIR HOME COUNTRY, to file their claims.
Step 2: As for the drug mules, why arrest them? Take the drugs, toss it in the nearest incinerator to be destroyed after that, refer to Step 1. Let them deal with the Cartels
Step 3: For those found stranded in the desert, give them a ride to the nearest border station, give them a bottle of water, an MRE, one night rest in a secured facility, then refer to Step 1.
All of this is done, after biometrics are done and the people are given a DNR warning.
