The Scouts should have been prepared for this.
One week after the century-old Boy Scouts of America announced it was changing its name and its mission to accept girls at all levels of scouting, its single biggest participant announced Tuesday that it was cutting ties to the Scouts.
And taking one-fifth of the Scouts membership with it.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, usually known as the Mormons, announced Tuesday that it was severing its relationship with the Scouts effective Dec. 31, 2019, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
In a statement issued jointly by the church and the Scouts, the church explained the move by noting that its membership was more global now than ever, and required a global approach.
“In this century of shared experience, the church has grown from a U.S.-centered institution to a worldwide organization, with a majority of its membership living outside the United States,” the joint statement said.
“That trend is accelerating. The church has increasingly felt the need to create and implement a uniform youth leadership and development program that serves its members globally. In so doing it will be necessary for the church to discontinue its role as a chartered partner with BSA.”

They’ve lost a couple of battles not the war.
That is never going to happen. The Bad Guys effectively blackmailed the BSA’s own leadership to capitulate on that, driving away the sensible leaders in the process. Something like that is never reversed.

Not surprised. The goal was always to destroy the Boy Scouts.
Here’s the problem: however many evil people may infiltrate the Catholic Church, there are objective rules and processes that can be appealed to. Unfortunately, the Boy Scouts are somewhat reliant on the prevailing culture. When the surrounding culture started viewing homosexual behavior as moral and even normal — when even many Protestant denominations embraced homosexuality — the BSA had few allies.
Just before I left Boy Scouts, a new Scout Leader showed up.
Two weeks later they closed the Troop for good after the parents reviewed the guy.
To this day, I’m convinced he was not only gay but a gay stalker.
The left destroys everything it touches.

I share your disgust at what has happened to the Boy Scouts, but I see no chance whatsoever there will be a reversal.

When I lived up near Boise Idaho, you couldn’t swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting a Morman. Many businesses were run by a corrupt group we always referred to as the “Morman Mafia”. Lots of corruption within the Morman cult.

It gives time to react for those in the program. Charters for different organizations (Trail Life USA) can be put in place, credits transfered, new officers elected, etc.
The left wing activist nutter who took over a few years ago now has been doing everything he can to destroy the scouts...
This creating Girl troops changes fundamentally the organizationas much as they protest it does not. For now an organization who’s mandate has always been to help raise and groom boys into men of character is not to groom boys and girls into people of character.
While this is a noble goal, you cannot help girls to become great women the same way you make boys great men, so compromises will be made because you have to serve two masters.
The current BSA leadership are as close to Manchuria. Candidates as you can find.
Once they “touch” it, it is contaminated, good as dead. (Episcopal Church was same, but it could not be “saved” once the libs ruined it).
The people that run that outfit don’t care. They seized control so they could advance their agenda. They don’t care what happens to the organization as a result.
Follow the money.
The “professional scouters” at national headquarters are trying to keep corporate donors—i.e., the people who pay the salaries of “professional scouters”—happy.
Funny how the cash given to the national office never quite found its way down to the local troop level.
