In my expedience in my old county, the Texas SoS did an excellent job training poll watchers and election workers. Since the election I just volunteered for is a run-off I missed the regularly scheduled pre-election training so will need to go online to get the latest regs.
Because I began as a poll watcher I have appreciated that training sessions carefully delineated the jobs of the watchers, workers and election judges. My experience was that the first couple of elections as a watcher, the judge was a bully. I’m usually a pretty quiet woman but bullies really bring out the bear in me so I was well equipped by God.
I don’t know what to expect with this new bunch of yahoos but it’s been made clear they don’t want to let any new people in. I know how to get my rule book and by golly I can sure coach my fellow poll watchers in documenting everything. Using a Q analogy, we’ll get everything. And maybe - it will all be by the book. But after this evening’s thoughts, something just stinks.
