IIRC. pi=22/7

22/7 is an approximation. 22/7 = 3.142857142857142857,... with the 142857 repeating. Pi = 3.1415926535897932384626433832795.........

Pi = 3.1415926535897932384626433832795......... ****************************************************** Archimedes found, by comparing the circumference of a circle to regular inscribed and circumscribed polygons, that π is between the values 3 10/71 and 3 1/7. In general, math classes teach that 3.14 is a close approximation of 3 1/7 = 22/7. So I think I would make your comment a bit differently. 3.14 is an approximation of 22/7 which can be carried out to infinity and come ever closer to the value of 22/7, which is in and of itself an approximation of the value of pi. Where π = c/d, c being the circumference and d being the diameter of a circle. So for any given circle, either the fraction or the decimal representation are approximations. To get the "real" value you would need to know the actual circumference and diameter and use that ratio in any equation. To any one who would like to discuss the issue further, I suggest private reply rather than clutter the thread anymore than I already have.
