Savannah is part of the spent (depleted) uranium ratline. It’s a legal exchange under US law (US buys/credits billions for worldwide depleted uranium) for uranium dropoffs from reactors around the globe but it is greatly abused by rogue actors because the price of uranium is orders of magnitude more than the price of gold.

For example, a kilo of HEU costs more than $90 million. That kind of money attracts some nasty characters.

The ships are brought into Charleston and then onto Savannah.

Most interesting about the Savannah port.

On the local blabber radio it was reported Savannah did a gagging huge number of containers last year and seek to increase that by 50% soon. I-16 from Savannah up to Macon is being widened for increased truck traffic north up to Atlanta-Hartsfield.

Of course, they’ll have to use I-75 from Macon northward. Don’t know what the hell they’re going to do about that as I-75 is a complete and total Charlie Foxtrot right now each and every day.
