I'm sure you saw the semi-tractor and some sort of earth-mover (Gradall?) or, maybe cherry-picker rig on the beach...

~~~~~~~~~~~~
IIRC, you were the FReeQ who started me looking at the tennis court, right?
First off, somebody definitely mucked around with the DEM (Digital Elevation Model) in that region of the Google Earth database. If you tilt 'way over and increase "elevation exaggeration" (increase the multiplier for the numbers in the DEM) and, come in a few feet above sea level -- that hill always appears to come to a sharp point -- even where it was artificially flattened in the area of the tennis court.
That's why you got unbelievable elevation readings in that area! Obviously, Epstein put his money to work to hide what he was doing on that hilltop!
~~~~~~~~~~

Go back and look at that hilltop on the 11/30/2006 overflight. That's the one with the cluster of big round dots. Folks originally saw those as holes. I now see that they are dump truck loads of spoil dirt from underground excavations (tunneling, etc.)

In fact, I propose that that entire light-colored triangular section of hilltop is one big spoil dirt pile. If you look at the far northwestern point of that triangle, you can see a Bobcat. And, you can see that long line where it had been spreading out dirt piles. Also, around the edges of the "triangle", you can see where dirt was pushed off the pile onto the original surface.

Yes...I was the one noodling around on LSJI a while back and pointed out how friggin’ weird that tennis court was due to what the elevation tool on GE was saying, and also how the court lines were bent visually signaling NOT FLAT.

A few here discounted what I was seeing. OK, but GE has always been dead nuts elevation-wise for known points back in my most lovely home state of Ohio. The ruler tool as well.

You have squarely hit the local fair bell ringer thingy: that tennis court is on a spoil pile...the spoil coming from UG excavation. That digging would generate a LOT of material, and on a 70-acre island there are not many options to scatter it around as to be unseen. The spoil pile thought I had not considered. Well done.

I will look again for a Gradall profile. Am quite familiar with them.
