I haven’t seen it, but I got a feeling that this video will address and counter whatever claims are made in Nova. It’s very good. It addresses the science and most importantly the politics behind the scam.

I was channel surfing and saw that it was going to be about “how weather develops and its effect on climate change” so I blew right past it. More leftard propaganda.

Since Climate Science is “settled” did they report what the correct median temperature of the earth is? Which single “Climate Model” did they settle on since it is now settled?

Some of the promos were bullshit. Also Bill Nye is being promoted in a special on TV. Don’t remember but it might have been POV or PBS.

However, the Wash. Post has been printing a lot of climate change garbage about “rising waters”, “new deserts”, etc.

Fools. I’ve got a background in science including Geology/Paleontology, Archaeology, and Anthropology. My bullshit antennae have been in orbit for the past several months (and not looking for aliens. Looking for intelligent life on Earth in the scientific community).

About a mile from where I live now, I lived in an apartment complex outside of DC. They found a dinosaur footprint while digging a trench for a new pipeline. The dinosaur could have come from the Cretaceous or Triassic Periods, since both formations are underlying where I lived/live and the Triassic redbeds with major dinosaur footprint “walks” are found in Culpepper, Va. (Been there. About 150 tracks on the same redbed surface - several different species).

My daughter and I found a Theropod toe-bone/foot bone off of Central Avenue on the DC Beltway where a Paleocene layer contained 5 species of shark teeth, Mosasaur teeth & vertebrae, many different species of fish teeth, gastropods, mollusks. Ammonoids and even a Cephalopod’s (squid-like) creature’s internal hard part, the Bellemnitella /Bellemnite (which is now in the Smithsonian).

Underlying that was a Cretaceous inland lake-like body of water with dinosaur bones (at least the one we found), alligator bones and scutes, turtle shell plates, one unusual configured shark specie’s teeth, and some shells.

Back in those days, between 65 Million and 120 Million, the DC Swamps were really jumping, and there are also coalbeds under the congressional office buildings/Supreme Court and the Capitol Building (and some of there possible Pennsylvanian Period lifeforms are still in Congress).

The concept of “Carry-out food” in those days was “Carrion Food”, fresh, not grilled.

Yes there has been climate change, only it took thousands or millions of years to happen. There is no “Instant Climate Change” as the left faux scientists want.

I started watching it because I like NOVA, but when they began to veer into "climate change is for real" I lost interest.

This is my very favorite NOVA - Earth from Space

If it wasn’t for climate change, Chicago would still be under a mile of ice.

Steve- Man’s CO2 amonts to just 0.00156% of the atmosphere- nowhere near enough CO2 to ‘blanket the globe- preventing heat from escaping’- nowhere near enough-

Also- Temperatures ALWAYS rise first- then CO2 rises- temperatures rise 100’s of years before CO2 rises- it is the temperature rises that cause the release of CO2 which causes the rise in atmospheric CO2 levels

This proves that man is not causing climate change- it’s the sun- causing temperatures to rise- which in turn causes CO2 to rise-

This is something i bet nova didn’t tell you- correct? Ice core samples prove temperatures always rise first- then CO2- so there is no way CO2 is driving temperature rises

Don’t sweat it. We’re still in an ice age. We should hope for warming.

Watched Nova from the beginning till around 15-20 years ago when it was apparent that they were just politicized crap. All public TV falls into that group

I get more from The Science Channel and Smithsonian Channel though occasionally they go to the dark side too. National Geographic Channel is as bad as public TV.

If it is on PBS, I generally wouldn't watch it. I used to like NOVA, but like National Geographic and rags like Scientific American, they have gone fully left.

The salient point to keep in mind is:

It is not in question that climate change happens or that temperatures may be rising or falling over time, that will cause the planet to change. It does. The question is whether those changes are caused by man, and whether they will be catastrophic.

They aren't caused by man, and they may or may not be catastrophic no matter what we do or say.

It started out with subtle lies and evolved into data manipulation about 30 minutes after that.

Just remember, “if it’s white, it’s steam.” and “emissions can’t be evaluated with the sun -behind- the plume”.

Check this video out, SteveH...

This guy is hated by the left, because he speaks the truth, and they won't engage him in debate. When they do, he mops the floor with them. There are a boatload of videos of his talks out there, this is just one link below. He is smart, funny, and serious all at the same time. He looks funny, and he knows it to, which commands my respect:

The London Conference on Climate Change 2016 Christopher Monckton of Brenchley

OK!! Everybody pay attention!
Lesson for today:
1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.
2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.
3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.
4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.
5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.
Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

Interesting that they make a big deal about 800,000 year old air samples from Antarctica, as though that sampled air typified global air. Air samples from Nepal will differ substantially from air samples in South Carolina. As the cyclical weather changed, so does plant life..up or down.

I watched part of it. The narrator’s voice has such a “This is truth.” sound. VERY deceiving.

They showed a graph of how the model accurately predicted the weather trends over the last century. Duh. Of course it would because it was based on that data!

They also used very overly positive words to describe the models. They did admit that there are very many variables that have an unknown impact, but then went on ignoring that fact. This means carbon may or may not be causative factor.

A glaring hole was the total lack of a worldwide perspective. Even if carbon is an issue, efforts in one country can be thoroughly inconsequential due to polluters like China and India.

The unstated conclusion of the show’s fear-mongering is that there are too many people, and people in other nations ought to stay poor so they don’t impact the environment.

Heheh, if you looked at that link I gave you, you might start your head swimming with all the math! That wasn’t the one I really wanted to send you, though you don’t even need to know math to understand that he is explaining why their predictions are all wrong due to a LOT of ASSUMPTIONS they make that are FAULTY (and the IPCC KNOWS they are faulty!) with the bottom line of:

Are we going to spend TRILLIONS of dollars on something we cannot change, we aren’t going to be able to affect by decreasing CO2, and is going to follow natural patterns of change in any case?

It is all about redistribution of wealth from wealthier countries to 2nd and 3rd world countries, suppression of industry (energy consumption) because industry is bad for the environment, setting up the UN with the ability to levy taxes (and do what they will with that money) and most of all, erode sovereignty of countries, because to them, all the problems of the world are caused by and exacerbated by borders. No borders, one government, and all our problems are solved (according to them).

That is what man-caused climate alarmism is all about, my FRiend.

This link is a little less technical:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h51IP3Z_A9A

*****************************************************

You are going to read about Lord Monckton being “debunked” and such, but if you really want to see how the Left (Climate Alarmists) go about “debunking” him, check this eye-opening appearance he made in front of a Congressional committee, and see how they dishonorably and shamefully attack him, a foreigner appearing as a courtesy because he was asked to appear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cssne9Q5KM

They attack him on his appearance, his status as a Lord, anything but the science. In particular, watch the reprehensible treatment by Rep. Inslee (DEMOCRAT) at about 14:25 into it.

Shameful, made me embarrassed to be an American.

The Nova episode, S45 Ep7: “Decoding the Weather Machine”
is about two hours long.

The video is available at:
https://video.wkar.org/video/3011569146/

Description:
Disastrous hurricanes. Widespread droughts and wildfires. Withering heat. Extreme rainfall. It is hard not to conclude that something’s up with the weather, and many scientists agree. It’s the result of the weather machine itself—our climate—changing, becoming hotter and more erratic. In this 2-hour documentary, NOVA will cut through the confusion around climate change.
