Yes, we live not too far away and had been following that story several weeks ago. They showed the gap that was opening at that time and it sounded like it was a matter of days before the hillside was to let go. We thought with all this rain it was long gone. Surprised to hear that they’re still monitoring it.

Some of the items missing were two 60W solar panels, and one Guralp 6TD seismograph worth approximately $12,000.00. The seismograph is about the size of a coffee can and it is useless to anyone who has stolen it.
If it’s worth $12,000, I would check ebay.
Maybe someone hoped to scavenge it for invar or something.
Instead of stealing it they should have given it a swift kick and sent the alarm bells ringing.
I could think of a couple of good uses for it.
