Surveillance cameras have captured the shocking moment a brazen thief shot and robbed a man in broad daylight at a Florida gas station.
The incident occurred on March 30 around 7pm at an Exxon gas station off West Sunrise Boulevard in Lauderhill.
Police say that a driver and a passenger in a black Chevrolet Camaro were circling the gas station looking for their victim. They eventually settled on a man wearing a gold chain who got out of his car and walked inside to pay.

Im curious how the victim was able to afford an $8500 chain and gold plated rims?

1. Execute the shooter on the spot.
2. Learn a lesson guys, wearing bling will get you robbed.
3. It is Florida — a shall issue state — always carry.

Blame the victim? Idiot. Do you do the same thing to rape victims?

‘Without community involvement, it makes our job very, very tough,’ Santiago told 7 News. ‘Even with video, even with witnesses, its important that the community gets involved. Contact the Lauderhill Police Department.’

I can afford a nice car, but I’m reluctant to buy one. Driving around where I live is fine, but I also travel to the inner city, often have to park on the street, etc...
A friend of mine with a Sarah Palin bumper sticker got his car windows smashed “downtown” and have heard many similar stories.
I stay with my 12 year-old toyota rust bucket, as it isn’t causing me any major problems, repair outlays are low, and it offers good “urban camouflage.”

I hope the white guy didn’t get his BMW scratched by the gas nozzle as he drove off.

That’s not blaming the victim. It’s a valid question.
Without white privilege how can a person afford such things?

I avoid urban areas as much as possible.
Downtown Columbia isn’t that great but it could be way worse.

In Atlanta 20 years ago when I was there working for a jewelry store that dealt in that sort of bling primarily, I can say that the bling like that pretty positively identifies a man as a drug dealer.

There are two extremes. A victim bears no responsibility for another person choosing to rape/kill/rob them, but -- if you stagger around downtown at 1am, drunk, wearing a tiny dress with your ass and tits hanging out -- you're not responsible for being raped, but is no one allowed to say "what were you thinking putting yourself in such a vulnerable position? Why didn't you take precautions, instead of making yourself the easiest possible target for an animal?" You may have a "right" to do something, but you can't obstinately divorce yourself from the reality of the potential actions of others in our fallen world.
Same thing applies to situations where a person goes around looking rich in an area where you really, really shouldn't stand out.
