I finally got to try In-n-Out last year around this time, at a place near Phoenix. Very efficient and clean operation, extremely limited menu (a'la the original McDonald's in CA), and above average burgers. The attitude of the staff reminded me of Chick-fil-A, so friendly and smiling East Coasters are probably freaked out. We don't have them around here, and their burgers honestly can't compare with our local drive-in and turn on your car lights for curbside service chain, Swenson's, but I can understand the positive rep.
