Just filled up for $2.47 yesterday on Matthews Drive. Gas will more expensive next week when the PGA rolls into town and brings tens of thousands of spectators. But this is a reasonable price. WTF is with California? $4 per gallon was the breaking point back in the ‘07 financial crisis.

The US auto fleet averages ~5 mpg more than during the FC. It is approximately 25 mpg today. The gas spike was a double whammy for people that had a reduction in pay and/or had ARM mortgages. Gas prices actually started pushing ~$4 during 2011-2014. It wasn't that big of a deal, because people had their cash flow issues worked out.
