Tiger Woods has been successful, and good for the game of golf. For that, I'm a little kindly disposed toward him.

That said, I cringed at every one of the interviews with him that I watched. So incredibly self-centered and amazingly the total opposite his genial professional counterparts is he. Tiger Woods is "me, me, me, I, I, I., in a game filled with humble and gracious professional peers.

I doubt that he'll ever be happy or content. Pity, it was there for him.

It’s not PC. They followed Phil Mickelson also, and he was even worse than Tiger.

Golfers age quickly. Ligament stress, lower back, hand issues. Tiger is human just like all the great ones. After golf does Tiger have anything? Design, endorsements, what?

The elixir of consistent championship play after 40 doesn’t exist. Yet the sports press remains out to lunch on the physiology of aging athletes.

The smart athletes don’t burn through their monies and invest in their futures. Tiger might have assets galore but without a sizable income property taxes are going to suck the blood right out of the tiger.

I don’t think he is over rated.
But he is over hyped.
He hasn’t done much since drug testing was instituted by the PGA.

Tiger Woods brought every one of his troubles on himself. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.

Tiger at 2 with dad.

Think dad only influenced his gold game?

Woods will never come close to what Nicklaus is and Palmer was after golf...

The hype that Woods was one of the favorites to win the Masters was ridiculous. The real question was whether he would make the cut or not. He did barely.

I think he’s doing well considering he almost killed himself with a medication “error” about a year ago.

I was hoping he would not make the cut so we could see some other golfers on the TV...

I like Tiger but I know what you mean. I remember a crawler once about a tournament in Dubai(??) that read Tiger was in 125th place. The thing is, they didn't report who the leader was.

...

Good question. Earl Probably had both a good and bad influence on Tiger.

From what I’ve read about Nicklaus’s dad is that he was an incredibly good father all the way around.

In Tiger’s case, it is even worse. He has always swung unnecessarily hard and that is bad news compared with those colleagues on the Tour with smooth, rhythmical swings.
Sam Snead said he hit the longest drive in his career one day when he was many strokes ahead on the last hole, and swung extra easy since he only wanted to keep it on the fairway. Most golfers have surprised themselves on occasion with how long they hit the ball with an easy swing.

Considering it’s his first time competing on this course in 3 years I am not surprised he is a little off his game. He’s could easily by -2 in the tournament but his putting is just plain off. It’s a difficult course and he’s having more trouble on it than most expected. I for one am happy he’s back and has been competitive this season. Was hoping to see him in the top 10.

You have no idea how wrong you are about how many golf fans were happy that Tiger is back in golf. Even if it’s a brief visit. Personally I was horrified at his personal behavior but was never rooting for his personal destruction.

I also suspect that you have no idea of what lurks in the minds of most men. Tiger acted on what was in his mind, and showed gross lack of character in doing so. But don’t kid yourself that he’s the only male at least lusting after women other than his wife. If that makes a man a pervert then there are a hell of a lot of perverts in the world.

Most athletes stay too long.

Tiger was great in his day. Not too many folks can dominate the world as he did.

We will have to agree to disagree, on Tiger’s appeal.

Hubby changes the (golf) channel whenever they interview this has been.

Take care.
