The 'Flag' exercises are aviation related. These are held at the the Nellis AFB range complex so it would be tough to get any ship there.
Not being an AF puke I think their air to ship stuff would occur during their PACAF (Pacific Command Air Force ) exercises with the squids.

Thank you for setting me straight, xone. Are you the one who mentioned it earlier? Swordmaker, here is info I was trying to bring to your attention. I thought it was a real possible fit for the red/green castle bit.
So red castle would be air to air? (verifying!)
