My nephew once worked for one of the world’s largest shipping companies. He noticed a pattern in their request for port entry and spoke with his FIL who sometimes works around the mob in NYC.
They are using ship containers and our import business to bring illegal materials in to the country. It not just the mules on the southern border bringing in drugs
Sure enough within weeks a yuge bust of heroine found in one of the contained space
Our borders also are East and West. Biggest routes from Asia go through California. California officials are paid to look the other way
Besides who would they get their drugs from if they closed down the trafficking routes. And believe me those in charge need the drugs that they have used to bribe their way into office
I’ve read recently, and also remember a map, about containers with fentanyl (meth too???? Can’t remember), both finished drug and ingredients, coming from China (mostly IIRC) via MX, CALIFORNIA and maybe east coast. TONS of who the hell knows what, comes in via CA. And people. How many containers are actually opened to view contents? A couple of percent, maybe. And stuff can be hidden under benign goods.
I wish my memory was better. I saw this in passing and didn’t try to save or memorize.
