I’ll tell my husband. LOL It was a very hard time for everyone. What they went through to even rent an apartment while serving was shameful.
Not a lucrative career path, nor should it be. Government service has always been "risky" as to pay, at least for the muscle.
If it weren't for the DoI, I would not be much of a patriot. But that document just blows me away. I'll fight for that.
Winding things back to that "level" is tougher now than it was then, but so much worth it.
