Perhaps, but I think his views on border security are irrelevant given his position. What is VERY relevant is his integrity and willingness to conduct an honest and aggressive investigation and prosecution of those people that need to get got.
Most important indeed. Yea?
Ruh, roh. Spider sense tingling.
There is really no "legal/statutory" standard. It's all ethical or rules based. Appointees routinely renege of "promises made" under oath, in confirmation.
I see no way Sessions would personally involve himself in going after Hillary or the Clinton Foundation. But that should be okay - or else we're in a situation where literally only ONE person in all of DOJ would be willing to go after crimes there.

Yes. While it doesn’t relate to his current investigation, it may indicate why Trump reappointed him last year. That was all I meant.
Which is pretty solid evidence that Huber is NOT a Rosenstein pick.
I listened to this Dan Bongino show this morning, and he filets the issue and lays it all out there regarding the good move Sessions made - in his own inimitable way!
Sessions is doing things “by the book.” The system works. Whn the system falls down, it is because the people running it are fudging the books.
So why removed and reappointed??
Is it because an appointment is good for 4 years? And his appointment by 0vomit would have expired in 2019? So now he is good to go until 2022?
That’s my only guess. But why would Trump not just reappointed him in 2019 if that was the issue? Is it in case he loses the Congress?
???
I kinda like this one
“What is Sessions SPECIFICALLY recused from? Probably from prosecuting his own team - DOJ employees. John Huber ,the U.S. attorney in Utah, can convene a grand jury, issue subpoenas, collect evidence and order witnesses to testify all the usual powers a federal prosecutor has as he delves into whether the FBI abused its powers when it sought permission then carried out wiretapping of a Trump campaign figure, or DOJ when it trod too lightly in pursuing questions about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. He is in every way a “Special Prosecutor”, except in name only.”
Huber has worked with Sessions in the past.
One anon suggested that Since Obama was not legit president, then so are none of his appointees....thus a need to reboot any good ones to make them legit. If they go that rout then there are many other appointees that are not legit.
While I can see them taking that rout with Obama if they decide to prosecute any of his crimes, as it would make it easier to deal with the public if he was not legit from the get go, I think the real reason for the reboot is just the normal answer.... It is common practice for all of the previous administrations prosecutors to turn in resignations so the next administration can chose their own people and re-ask those they think are a good fit.
UAP - Uninterruptable Auto Pilot?
And I think it is a mistake to view Huber as the only person involved in looking that the facts and players at issue here. He is no more solo than Mueller is. Huber is managing an effort. He and all his team is empowered to convene GJ and prosecute criminal allegations.

Yes.
I agree with you, and it does seem clear to me. I have been “trusting Sessions!” I just really like the way Bongino examines it and explains it.

Per my Darlin, who is watching Fox, Shannon Breem, is apparently high lighting a red flag law about gun confiscation. I’m not watching it..... just reporting to give folks a heads up.
Good ones. Thanks.
I understand, earthling. ;^D
Apparently his specialty is terrorism...and Dick says...perfect for going after Hillary. We all know DICK HATES Hillary!!!
