Live by the needle, die by the needle.

I couldn’t resist.

I wouldn’t go for the DP, but would use big-time dealing as a sentence enhancer, myself.

So, you want to murder doctors who prescribe painkillers for people in agony? You desire for patients who undergo major surgery to be offered only a pitiful aspirin for pain?

That is, to be brutally honest, evil.

It’s almost impossible for pain patients to obtain pain relief in this country, thanks to the know-it-all drug warrior fascists. Let’s allow the doctors to do their jobs without fear of Big Brother, shall we?

How do you know what pain sufferers need? People are suffering and dying because of the holier-than-thou drug warrior fascists.

Let’s stop terrorizing doctors and pharmacists, shall we?

I don’t want to live in despotic, totalitarian crapholes like the Philippines or Singapore.

The death penalty should be considered and implemented for a multitude of other crimes.

I suggest corruption of public officials be added.

Nope. Just execute the ones who push deadly addictive drugs on people for bribes. And also those in the corporation who bribed them.

And legalize medical cannabis. I’ve seen it help countless people, it has no potential for overdose and it can be grown for free. Absurd that someone suffering is not allowed to grow a plant on their own property that helps them live

I apologize for misinterpreting your post.

We are on the same page on legalizing medical cannabis. Cannabis grows naturally and has been proven to have medical benefits.

So I guess anyone who supports this kind of law thinks that Rush Limbaugh's "doctors" should have been executed—and Limbaugh himself should probably have received a 10 year minimum mandatory sentence for his heinous crimes.

Oh, I forgot, Rush Limbaugh—like all people in the protected, connected class—was treated according to a different standard. The draconian stuff, of course, is reserved for "drug dealers" (after all, Rush's multitude of "doctors" weren't drug dealers, right?) and also "little" people.

The average citizen—who doesn't have the wealth, celebrity, or connections necessary to sidestep pesky and Contraband Law—is SOL. How very quaint the Fourth Amendment has become under the ever-expanding Police State needed to enforce such nanny-state Tyranny.

And anyone who thinks that Rush never once went to the Black Market to support his habit, I have a bridge to sell you...

Great post and spot on.

The Elites will still get the meds they need, while the average peasant will suffer. And, as some of the drug warriors say, suffering is “noble”. They would be singing a different tune if they, or one of their loved ones, were stricken with cancer or some other painful disease.

I remember my experience over a year ago on Thanksgiving. I injured my neck and lay in the ER for hours, in much
pain.

My regular doctor was out of state for the holiday and I wasn’t familiar with this particular doctor. During the several hours that I was in the ER, they took one CT-Scan on my head and neck and sent me home.

They diagnosed me with a badly sprained neck and gave me ONE Aleve. Here I was, miserable and wearing a neck collar and they gave me one Aleve.

The worst part of my experience was their attitude. I was well behaved and not making a fuss but they made me feel as if I were a “drug seeker”. It was insulting, to say the least.

When my regular doctor returned, he gave me painkillers and a muscle relaxer. He also prescribed me physical therapy for several weeks. Yet, the ER doctor and nurses treated me like an addict. It still burns me up thinking about it.

I’m lucky in that I have a doctor that is caring and listens. And, no, he doesn’t freely hand out painkillers.

You made a very good point about Rush. Some people on this site forget that this law would send Rush to jail.

What these people don’t understand is that these draconian anti-opioid laws are turning law abiding citizens into criminals because their doctors are, understandably, scared to prescribe the pain meds they need. The patients are forced to purchase off the streets which, in itself, is incredibly risky because the pills may be tainted with dangerous ingredients.

As I have stated before: Let doctors decide what is best for their patients, not the government. When Government plays doctor, the “little” people suffer.

The worst of them should stop terrorizing patients. Pain killers should NEVER be given unless a patient is made aware of the long term impact they can have on the body's ability to tolderate pain. Weakened tolerance to pain will lead to addiction to pain killers. Besides that, whenever pain killers are given, alternatives that aren't opioids or other addictive drugs should be presented. Patients should have to sign a form indicating that the dangers of the pain killers have been explained to them, and the patient chooses to take them instead of other possibilities. Hold the patients accountable for their choice, too.

FWIW I had a few teeth extracted last year. The dentist insisted I bring home pain killers even though I rejected them, "just in cast". Blackberry Brandy worked just fine, and the hangover made it totally non-addictive. <^..^>

Yeah, this is stupid. Is he just slinging red meat or what because this initiative has zero chance of happening.

Prosecutors aren't going to push for the death penalty against drug dealers, juries aren't going to award it, and courts aren't going to uphold it.
