I love Disneyland with kids. We had annual passes for years when my older kids were little. But it is all too expensive now, it can’t even be a once yearly thing. We went in Feb. it was so fun but so short. We didn’t get to see much, but the weather and crowd was great.

Wont affect me, dont go there.

Vacations with mountainous lines of people everywhere is not “vacation” for me.

Disney has been a complete rip off for more than a decade now... just one more thing

The days of me being enchanted by Disney are long gone.

The only enchantments Disney casts now a days are evil enchantments. They befuddle minds with a glamour that makes people willing to, nay clamor to fork over their hard earned cash to be overcharged to park, then for entry to a venue so crowded that they can hardly move let alone enjoy more than a few attractions, so over charged for food and souvenirs as to be comparable to rape (though not rape rape).

And then there is the other Disney, the Disney of TV that used to take us on adventures of nature, imagination and family. The only place that Disney takes our children now is to the land of perversion and a family that is imagined as weak with parents that are gullible and easily fooled by children that are so much smarter than the parents that the lesson taught is that children don't have to listen to parents and adults because children are smarter and should be able to do what they want.

“Disney” began 94 years ago. Why did/do parents feel it necessary to baptize their children into its religion (which is a lot older than Disney)?

Doesn’t affect parents who are able to say NO! to their children (i.e., the ones willing to spank).

Whoops, I guess it does affect most American parents.

I read it to mean that if you drive from the hotel to the park (rather than taking the free shuttle bus) you won’t be charged a second fee at the park in addition to the one you’ll be paying at the hotel.

What I don’t understand is why they are nickle and diming on this instead of just jacking up the room rates.

Of all the bullbleep extra ripoff charges, this is the one that loses our patronage

This won't affect as many people as a room rate increase. A lot of people staying on-site don't have a car.

A guest with a car is more likely to drive off reservation and spend money elsewhere. Disney wants a captive audience.

side story circa 1980s. Christmas Break Disney World FLSA Disney employees fired today for parking prank. 5 disney parking employees were dismissed today for parking all red rental cars in one area. Puzzled guests took up to 2 hours to find vehicles after spending all day in the park and became impatient as their children cried from exhaustion. Disney would not release the employee names saying personnel matters are confidential.

Not too far outside the WDW gate is the Marriott World Resort where I have been 5 times to a conference. I can confirm Marriott definitely charges overnight guests for parking. It messed with my mind the first time but joining their rewards club reduced the cost plus got the points for the stay.

Nobody is forced to go to Disney World, but for the life of me, I cannot fathom why anyone would.

I go because I find it immensely entertaining. It's a good use of my discretionary income.

In most cities major hotels charge for parking. At Pier 39 in SF you can pay 40 a day to park and shop and give your money to them at high prices. SF and LA hotels and others are horrible and I would guess NY and DC. Haven’t been to them recently

That's the key. I haven't been in years, but when we did, we had a car so we could do other things other places, including buying groceries...both during our Disney stay, and afterwards when transferring to a different part of the vacation. We always took a day or so to travel to Canaveral, or spent a day travelling around the Orlando area.

Walt Disney would be sickened in what Disney INC. has turned into.
