Go to bed at dusk, get up at dawn, no reason to advertise the fact your fridge is still cold and your communications still work.

I have several solar powered front yard lamps, the kind you put on a post at end of the front of your home's walkway. Can be set out in the sun or in a sunny window, then used at night. Got them online last year at Home Depots. Check the wattage, some offer better light than others. May be good for bartering too. 🙂
