Britain 'four meals away from anarchy' if cyber attack takes out power grid
yahoo ^ | 03/17/2018

The warning comes weeks after the Defence Secretary, Gavin Williamson, said Russia had been spying on the UK’s energy infrastructure and could cause “thousands and thousands and thousands” of deaths if it crippled the power supply.

America this week blamed the Russian government for a campaign of cyber attacks stretching back at least two years that targeted the US power grid.

Energy and security experts say a cyber attack is one of a number of so-called “black sky hazards” that have the potential to knock out power for days, weeks or even longer across large parts of a country, or even continent.

As well as a cyber attack, other black sky risks include extreme weather, an electromagnetic pulse caused by a nuclear detonation in the atmosphere and terrorist attacks on key substations or transformers.

One of the most destructive risks would be a powerful solar storm. A previous storm in 1859, now known as the Carrington Event, caused so much geomagnetic disruption that telegraph operators reported sparks bursting out of their machines. Such a storm today could cause havoc to electrical systems.

Lord Arbuthnot of Edrom, a former chair of the Commons defence committee who now advises the Electric Infrastructure Security Council, said modern life had complete reliance on electricity.

Same here, maybe less. How much food do you reckon the average EBT-paying customer has at home?

Several years ago we had a bad ice storm. Fortunately we were prepared with gasoline on hand and a generator. We had to go out of town. While in Chicago we got a call from one of the kids that said our power had gone off, our generator failed. It apparently ate it self and was not reparable. We sent the kids to Home Depot to get another one. The
$500.00 generators were now $1300 and there was a waiting list for those. We were in Chicago but were catching another flight to Salt Lake City. As soon as we got there we took a cab to a Home Depot and bought a $500.00 Generator for $500.00. We had it sent home UPS. Somehow UPS got it there the next day, we only paid ground shipping. We were without electricity for only 1 day. No freeze problems, the kids got it put in service as soon as it showed up. The kids had no power either. While they had kerosene heaters they couldn’t cook or bathe so they lived at our house while we were gone until the electricity came back on several days later.

We have decided that will never happen to us again. We got 12KW of roof top solar cells and a 16KW NG generator. We also installed a huge battery that will last a couple of weeks without recharging. It’s a lot of money but we are getting pretty old and don’t want to be without AC in the summer or a nice warm house in the winter.

I’m pretty sure we could get by without leaving the house for a year or more. It’s good to have a basement full of stuff.

It has taken several years to be as well prepared for an emergency as we are but are now prepared for us and the kids.

We have taught all the kids and some of the grandkids in town how to shoot and have plenty of weapons to protect what we have.

We expect in a SHTF situation that there will be some civility at least for a while, especially when people all have guns. We think there will be a trade system so that most people can survive but some simply will not if the power is off for an extended time.

In other words, if the globalists decide to sabotage Britain’s power grid, they want people to think it was Russia.

in what country are you referring?

The Coupons came out in ‘40 for sugar and butter along with a free pint of milk for every child under 5 (that’s where set-aside jars of jam came in - sugar). The DigForVictory program of ‘41 mandated every adult have an allotment planted with veggies. Magazines ran articles on preserving food and making coats from drapes (heavy fabric was available but extra ration points were needed to purchase it). All manner of farmyard animals were raised in back yards - in London. There were programs to send children to the countryside, but it wasn’t because of lack of food but because of the bombings. Shops stayed open because being Brits, they would never surrender to bombs. Grocers drove to the country to buy produce and meat to bring back to their corner shops. There was no real need for ‘hoarding’, and I’ve never heard of anyone shot in London for failing to give up their baking soda, nor did the government confiscate the produce of the Victory Gardens, although they may have purchased a bit. The main “food” arrests were for improper use of rations. And that usually ended in a large fine or points deducted from your rations, along with a stern lecture from the magistrate about the honor and dignity of an Englishman.

Let me tell you something about hu-mons, nephew. They’re a wonderful, friendly people…as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time, and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don’t believe me? Look at those faces. Look at their eyes.

I an betting on half pint bottles of cheap burbon and loose leaf tobacco to be the new gold standard.

Coffee.

I remember a power outage one time and people were lined up almost around the block to get some coffee at the local grocery store which had a HUGE emergency generator brought in.

People don't last long without their morning fix.

Waste of time talking about the Carrington Event on FR. Large numbers don’t believe it happen and more don’t believe it can happen again.

And then they'd be the first ones come knocking on someone else's door when it DOES happen.

If a solar event happened once, it can happen again.

Look up what happened with the pigs raised by "Pig Clubs".

These were privately bought animals who were raised by private individuals and the government took half.

Don't confuse what happened in the US with what happened in the UK.

The government told you what you could grow, how much you had to grow, what you could keep for personal use and what you had to sell and at what price.

There is a pretty good documentary called Wartime Farm that shows the iron grip the government had on the food supply.

Because it was sold to the people as "equality" they decided to continue it after the war and rationing ended only in 1956.

Some government controls such as what kind of cheeses you could make did not end until the 1990s.

You don’t really want to know what you ask me.

You’re using sarcasm because your thoughts are not supported by logic strong enough to test them against mine.

Actually, reasonisfaith may have a valid point there.

I wouldn’t put ANYTHING past them.

Nor would I put it past someone to blame Russia for it when it was muslim terrorists.

The jihadists most effective strategy would be to do isolated terror events and make it look like someone else was doing it.

And to doubt the fidelity of governments.

The government can’t even deliver mail or run the DMV efficiently.

I should trust them with my well being and welfare?

There’s nothing the government can’t screw up once it gets its hands on it.

I think you are right. They keep harping on this Russia is responsible for everything meme. Makes me think that they think if they blame Russia enough we will all believe it was Russia instead of them. Really bothers me because I wonder what may be coming.

I put nothing past them and the demonic treachery the NWO would do for control.
