Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart perform a triumphant "Stairway to Heaven" as a tribute to 2012 Kennedy Center Honorees Led Zeppelin.

Of course “Barracuda” was a blatant rip-off of “Achilles’ Last Stand”.
Not a bad cover as far as covers go. But its definitely not as good as Led Zeppelin’s.
It is interesting to listen to how singers from past eras adapt to changed ability levels, such as in the cases of Steve Perry and Art Garfunkel.

One of the finest songs ever.
Not sure I want to hear heart’s version though, currently listening to this one.
I agree about the importance of this song, the Ann & Nancy version at the Lincoln Center had 3 of the original band members and they seemed to love it with Bonhams son Jason on drums
Check it out, interesting visuals and the responses byt the actual Zep members says a lot

Working at a little AM/FM radio station in Illinois in the 70’s, I met Heart after the release of their first album.
They were signing albums at grand openings of Pamida/Gibson stores.
Total jerks.
The only thing better than Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven is Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir
Alright lemme check it out.
Heart does an outstanding cover of “Battle of Evermore” at the ‘95 Rock ‘n Roll HOF. While nothing can ever replace the marvelous duet performance of Sandy Denny and Robert Plant on the original, Heart’s version beats any live performance Led Zep ever did.
Unfortunately, the Heart video has been pulled for copyright reasons.
IIRC Ann and Nancy are no longer on speaking terms.
Jimmy liked the solo and Robert was crying ... very nice -> was that JPJ on the left? Unfortunately Obama was there faking like he got it. That guy’s face can ruin anything ... but not ruined. John Bonham couldn’t come down the stairway for breakfast cause he foreshadowed all the Spinal Tab drummers. Thanks for posting!
not bad. good job Heart and friends.
That was superb! Magical even. Except for the part with the Obamas... geez.
Bob looks like he really enjoyed it. So did I. Thanks for the push ^^
I knew several guys who were store managers at Gibson’s. Gibson’s marketing slogan was “Where you always get the best for less”. At the opening of new stores Mr. Gibson would always say a prayer. At one such opening he prayed “Lord, we want to thank You for helping us open this new Gibson’s store, where you always get the best for less.”
After hearing Jimmy Vaughn’s jazz cover of the Beatles’ Can’t Buy Me Love last weekend (on radio) I have to wonder what else he can adapt

The Wilson sisters really do a great job of that one, but when it comes to chicks covering Zeppelin, they all must bow down to Zeparella, and the phenomenal Gretchen Menn’s guiltar work and Anna Kristina’s vocals and harp work that Robert Plant would die for:
