Yet another video I'd deleted when it was blocked that is suddenly NOT blocked. So, until they change their mind AGAIN...

As long as I knew where the fast forward button was, I enjoyed this show immensely.

Even though Boston Legal was produced by a big leftest, I loved this show. Spader and Shatner were fantastic leads in this show.

Denny Craig in Boston Legal

Denny Crane.

Maybe he didn't say his name often enough to make anyone remember it.

Great scenes in this, and I loved Shatner and Spader in this series.

Among Shatner’s many great lines was my favorite - which should be advice for all conservatives - NEVER LET THE OTHER SIDE FRAME THE ISSUE.

I’ve done that before. I can’t imagine why my head is wedged around Craig instead of Crane. Thanks for the correction. Really wish I could fix it. Thanks.

I was going to say I’d love Shatner in anything, but I have to admit that I’ve never seen him as the sheriff. They found the perfect balance of ridiculous and sadness. And I’ve never seen that theme used before - someone strong and famous realizing that they’re losing it and it will only get worse. If they hadn’t padded it round with leftish philosophy, I would have been so happy with the show.

A little note on Otis Redding. (1941-1967). African American and a fine upstanding individual. Sang his "Dock of the Bay just before he died. Reminiscent of another famous band, his entourage took off in bad weather. Near Madison, Wisconsin the aircraft went down in a lake. One survivor, who said they were advised not to take off previously

For me the song is the sadness of being absolutely alone. I am sure some Freepers as well as myself were faced with that situation in their lives. Hopefully came out of it as I did.

Excuse the liberty of a little retrospection.

Sad story about Redding, and I’m so very glad you’re not alone anymore. The song never strikes me as sad. To me, it’s the pleasure of being lazy and staring out at something beautiful, since sitting quietly and doing nothing is such a rare event in my life. Those moments are more memories of childhood - lying on the grass and watching the clouds roll by. Excuse the liberty of a virtual hug to you and yours.

Nice to have your reply. Different situations might cause differing views. I was unemployed and living out of my 68 Plymouth in Western Canada at the time of the song.

Nice to have a virtual hug -and a big hug back to your and yours.

I’ve rather had the opposite situation. I’ve never lived alone, or lived a day of my life that I wasn’t loved or had someone to lean on. I’m 73 and husband 75. The idea of one of us being alone is pretty overwhelming. I do believe that strength comes from being tested, as you’ve been. I sincerely hope we’ll have your strength.

Loved Western Canada. Drove through Edmonton in the autumn and thought it was one of the most beautiful places I’d ever been. On the other hand, I did notice that all the parking lots had cords hanging down for the cars. So I REALLY hope you weren’t in your car in a Western Canadian winter.
