The Denver Post is reportedly cutting 30 people from its newsroom, one-third of the paper's staff.
The Posts city hall reporter Jon Murray tweeted that an editor announced the news during a staff meeting. There are some sobs in the room, Murray added.

This is true. It used to be you actually had democrat friends and everyone was civil. There were no huge chasms in beliefs and values and politics were seldom more than joking or ribbing. And then the 60’s happened. I think the turning point came when Barry Goldwater lost to Johnson. Downhill ever since.
The same pox is plaguing small town papers too. I took The NewsStar in Monroe, LA for 17 years. During that time it was bought by Gannett. Gannett took the profits from the Newstar and used this funding (along with the same from hundreds of other small town papers that they bought) to support their flagship publication USA Today. In the meantime they turned all of these small papers into liberal rags while totally ignoring the preferences of their subscribers.
I cancelled my subscription about a year ago. This week they sent me a notice that I could enjoy three months of home delivery for $30. When I canceled I was paying $32/month. Of course after three months it goes to the $32 rate.
I declined. I would have to walk to the street every morning to remove the litter lest my neighbors get upset. Can’t bring myself to do it. Paper isn’t worth using to line a bird cage.
They refuse to even appear to be fair and balanced in their reporting and daily offer at least one bashing of President Trump. Never offer anything positive about him.
Yet they can’t seem to understand what is wrong with their paper. As for Colorado, does anyone think clearly in that state anymore since pot was legalized?
