One of the automatic weapons used by so called, "counter snipers" at the Waco Twin Peaks biker shooting incident is apparently a 'ghost gun'. The serial number used to identify the weapon in the forensic ballistic reports does NOT exist per Colt Firearms serial number search. Both of the two Remington sniper rifles were in the serial number data base of Remington Bushmaster firearms.
Explain what this means please. Was this ghost gun in the hands of a government or law enforcement official? Is the gun in custody or leave with them?
Wouldn’t be the first time a manufacturer made a mistake.
A simple transposition of numbers? A poorly stamped number, so an 8 might look like a 3 or 6?
Curious indeed.
ONLY the leos had long guns at Waco, but you knew that...
Thanks, I’m completely confused.
The Ghost Gun was used by Waco Swat.
No, I did not know that. I long ago suspect most, if not all of the murders were by the LEOs, just waiting to see that confirmed or debunked.
So, back to my question, was it seized? Who used it (name)? When are the LEOs here going to be charged with murder?
The name of the SWAT Officer that used it was identified in the Carrizal Trial.
Look yourself, if you so desire.
I am not interested in reading more detail than I already am. It is sad to see that they will apparently get away with murder.
That is not a ghost gun. This is either a clerical error, a manufacturing mistake, or at worst, an illegal modification to a serial number.
A ghost gun is a gun built for personal-use without a serial number and without an ATF record. The gun grabbers hate them because they can’t find all the gun even with every 4473 in existence.
I ran into a “ghost gun” in the late 1960s. They were also called “clean guns”.
Both terms meant they had no manufacture’s markings or serial numbers. They were specially ordered.
Interesting, did follow the link a lot of other interesting info there, If I had read it do not remember some of it. Thanks for update.
So what? More whiny biker baloney. Would the gangs feel better if there was a serial number on the gun?
It means that this was a planned murder by someone on the LE side.
Changing a light bulb is an expression of toxic masculinity and white racism.
I wonder if somebody is importing counterfeit lowers from China, and even LE has them in inventory.
I wonder what that does to any legal case, if the prosecution says, the ballistics show that so and so shot so and so with rifle X at this time, and the defense shows rifle X cannot possibly exist as described in the report.
The ‘Ghost Gun’ does have a serial number and it is a law enforcement weapon. By Ghost Gun I mean that the serial number does not exist according to Colt. We ran the number both with AO and A0 in the beginning and neither number shows up in the Colt data base.
Our publication ran the first story about the accusations that LEO killed most of the bikers with sniper fire. The Sentinel was delivered all the evidence on a hard drive and proceeded to prove it with an in depth spread sheet.
