The Greenhouse arrived on Thursday, but will stay in its box until the ground thaws and we can get the pad built for it. I’ll be starting veggie plants in my grow-rack, but not until end of March or so; weather depending. I plan on buying some of what I need this year, as from this Fall forward, I will be growing out just about anything and everything I can in my Greenhouse. (Yippee!)

We got one more dump of snow last week; 6-inches. Man, it was heavy - like shoveling ice cream - but certainly not as rewarding, LOL! Thee days later - it’s all gone again. Why shovel? Meh!

Lots of Robins out and about now and the Goldfinches are turning slightly more yellow, which is a good sign! ;)

I have been stashing cardboard to line four more garden beds that we’ll start on as soon as the weather turns warmer. We have another week and the Weatherman PROMISES weather in the 50’s on a consistent basis. We shall see.

We are driving to Sturgeon Bay on Monday to drop off Beau’s black bear hide for tanning - he’s having it made into a rug, and lately has announced that the bull elk skull and rack he’s been boiling and the bear skull he’s having cleaned by beetles (!) at a friends will be future ‘decor’ in the family room. Alrighty, then...

I AM looking forward to the drive, though - a BEAUTIFUL part of our state, to say the least:

I know that doesn’t have a thing to do with gardening - just venting! :)

Have a Great Weekend, Everyone!

We had a male goldfinch at our feeder the first week in February. He was a first year male. He stayed at the feeder awhile. I was glad of that because I could almost not believe my eyes. He was half turned a bright yellow. It was an amazing sight. Have not seen him since but given his bright color with no leaf cover - we are in the woods - he probably got nabbed by a hawk.

Snow and Icecream - reminds me that as a kid we used to scoop up clean snow and make Snow Icecream with cream, sugar, vanilla flavoring added.
