HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - A type of rodeo event coming to the Yard Goats stadium was quickly canceled after it turned into a firestorm on social media.
The event was called The Cowboy- Rodeo Monkey Show, which showcases monkeys acting as cowboys riding dogs.
The Yard Goats posted the event on Facebook about a week ago and since then hundreds of people have been sounding off urging them to cancel the event.
On Monday, they canceled it.
“People in Connecticut love animals, they care about animal welfare and this is not the type of entertainment that our state appreciates,” said Susan Linker, of Our Companions Animal Rescue.
Linker said she was outraged when she saw the event was scheduled at the Yard Goats stadium in Hartford this summer.
“At first when I googled it, I thought it was a joke. I couldn't believe it was actually happening and when I looked at it further indeed it was a thing and coming here to Hartford,” Linker said.
The Cowboy- Rodeo Monkey Show is popular at rodeos and at minor league baseball games around the country.
The monkey sits on the dogs as they chase rams.

When I was living in Michigan in the early 90’s Dwarf Bowling was all the rage.
People would go to bars and hurl midgets on skateboards down the floor into some plastic bowling pins.
The PC crowd in Lansing found that abusive and passed a state law banning the practice.
The next day TV news was full of interviews with little people complaining that the State had deprived them of their income.

Did you watch the video? I only WISH it were a ram going after a bunch of politicians as they exit the State House!

I watched it. Connecticut would not need to collect taxes if their politicians and bureaucrats were in the ring with that ram. People would line up to pay to see it.

Can you imagine the look on their faces as the ram walks up to them, sizing them up, then as soon as they sense the fear and hesitation...WHAM! Then they back up, start sizing them up again...WHAM!
Then it turns on the next person who frantically turns his back and runs...WHAM!
Heheheheh...we might actually hear leftists calling out for someone with a gun!
