I’m curious where Walmart stands. Although they’re not in the package delivery business, AFAIK they have thousands of empty back hauls a day other than occasionally returning trailer loads of pallets.

I’ve thought UPS would be a good fit for Walmart except for the union. FedEx given the reliance on subcontracting isn’t. Walmart needs to move beyond customers picking up internet orders at stores.

“Amazon is now looking into starting their own shipping business. FedEx and UPS will clean his clock.”

You think so? Yesterday I ordered headphones from Amazon. There was a knock at my door at 9pm with my headphones. If FedEx and UPS can do that, they have a chance. My best is if Trump is reelected, he will privatize the postal service and Amazon will buy it with an eventual merger with either UPS or one of the other overnight services.

The rumors around UPS several months ago was that Amazon was going to buy them.

Amazon gets a rate shipping cut from USPS. IOW.....they’re subsidized.....by US.

ALL large shippers get rate discounts from the USPS. The more you ship, the larger the discount.

If I mail out 3000+ ad cards (like I just did) I pay less per card (a lot less) than if I mail out 500 cards.

So I guess you helped pay for that too.

Thanks.

Whole Foods suppliers are likely all Organic Fair Trade Gender and Carbon Neutral Worker Collectives.

Can angry sit-ins at Whole Foods stores be far behind?

Not as long as there is McDonalds, Jack in the Box and Taco Bell.

I pick up a product and read the ingredients. Also, check dates, and with produce and meat look for the best looking product with the right size. Sometimes I change my mind and bring the can, pasta or whatever back and put it again on the shelf. How could this system takes all of each individuals shopping habits into consideration?

They have it all programmed. You get charged with what you carry out the door.
