You know this is building the groundwork for paid family leave, right?

Sure you do. Hubby had flu A earlier this year and if I hadn’t insisted he get swabbed, because the kids swabbed positive, he’d have gone to work.

Sometimes it’s because the parental figure can’t stand to have the little brat around and the parental figure needs a break.

Its a BAD reason, but there it is.

(Note: Neither I nor Mrs. Hoagy62 would EVER do that.)

Because those parents are idiots...or just so self centered that they think it’s great to infect other people

I wish those who are sick would stay home. This flu season is especially nasty

My daughter is an ICU nurse. She got diagnosed with influenza A3 type. Her boss cleared her schedule for eight days and said we love you stay away. She’s on Tamiflu and had a steroid shot because her asthma mixed with the flu had her breathing compromised

Not all places are the same

I limit my contact with the public and wash my hands

That’s a different issue and should be handled separately

If you have a fever....100 or greater you ought to be at home. Don’t come out until you are below 100 for a full 24 hrs

The problem is you can be infectious while you’re still ambulatory.

Well workers comp is a bit different, especially if it is due to their negligence. Hopefully you are being paid while off if it’s their fault.

Its because if the children stay home, the parent has to stay home.

And parents cannot stay home.

My company has treated me very well.

Medical bills have been paid. Weekly stipend has and is being paid

And yeah I know workers comp is a different kettle of fish

For bacteria, I suspect over-use can cause you to get sick. You are covered inside and out by a variety of organisms that serve as your first line of defense against many more invasive ones (primarily by out-competing them).

I’ve worked in the call center profession for a long time. During flu season the people who get the flu are usually out twice the time as people outside the call center.

They are out when they are sick. They are also out when their kids are sick.

And then, the flu goes up and down the aisles. You could almost see the virus moving through the operation.

That works if you have a normal temp range. My family tends to run colder. 99 is heading into delerious. I can infect you with something completely debilitating at 99%.
