They do because they dont want to be embarrassed later when its found to be a hoax. Its embarrassing being a member of a forum that believes crazy stuff. Its safer to get in record now saying this is crazy vice waiting until later because then people will say... Why didnt you call it crazy before.Who exactly is forcing you to read/reply to these threads?
Who are you going to be embarrassed to tell?
Methinks you have an ego problem...
Why not just go away?

An ego on an anonymous forum? Yeah that’s it.
But I am proud of the things people on the FR have accomplished.
We broke the blue dress story before drudge. That was actually me that did that :-)
I was part of the crew (well watching the real crew) debunk Dan Rather’s fake memo.
The pajama brigade is a proud brigade, and to see any of us fall for a cult of stupidity is embarrassing for the FR. No longer can we just say we were the crew that busted Dan Rather, we’ll also have to say...yes some of us are nut jobs that believed Q.

Having said that I do enjoy the conspiracy theories some come up with. From Nikki Haley to being in a photo years ago with Kim Jung Il to Bill Clinton personally delivered children to North Korea to be sex slaves.

Why not just go away? But that's not the style of ego problems, is it.
