Different context.

You as a single individual can ignore them. But when they descend on websites such as FR, you cannot communicate because all the posting is taken over and normal posters get overwhelmed. That is the disruption they aim to achieve. I have witnessed it here and elsewhere.

They can be defeated by asking questions that mess up their programming and also expose their artificiality so they can be zotted.

Have seen the trolls do that on the Q threads and it tires my eyes out, have learned to look at the poster’s names before reading their comment and skip past it. Do wish the Mods would get on top of the problem when they disrupt a thread.

Ahhhh ... Maybe a small team of clever folks coming up with wise questions to that end would help. Qx is willing to contribute his ideas if others get that ball rolling. I can contribute some.
