PLAINVILLE — Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former president Bill Clinton and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, will give a reading, Q&A and signing of her soon-to-be-published book, “She Persisted Around the World: 13 Women Who Changed History,” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at An Unlikely Story bookstore, 111 South St.

Alexandra Boiger, the book’s illustrator, will also be on hand.

“She Persisted Around the World” is described on the bookstore’s website as the companion to Clinton and Boiger’s #1 New York Times bestseller, “She Persisted,” and is “perfect for tiny activists, mini-feminists, little kids (and parents!) who are ready to take on the world.”

Tickets to the bookstore event are $20.90, which includes tax and fees, and are required as space is limited. A ticket gets you one copy of the book and admission for an adult and a child.

According to the website, tickets for the reading and Q & A go on sale at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. Tickets for the signing-only line will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16. After those in the reading have had their books signed, those in the signing-only line will enter the signing area. All tickets are non-refundable.

Will she be true to her form and sign it in finger paint?

Manning ACTUALLY is better looking than Chelsea.

Of course that’s a pretty low bar.

Why would I pay money to attend a Q&A session with Web Hubbell’s sprong?

Yep, the Clintons were broke, LOL>

I know Hillary meant that they had some hefty legal bills from the Lewinsky and other scandals as they left the White House.

But nobody, not HIllary or anybody, ever notes that she had a multi million dollar book advance in pocket, while they were still in the White House. She hadn’t gotten her hands on the cash yet. So in the Clinton mind, she was broke.

And remember that interview where she said they were broke, she said how Bill had to piece together resources for two houses and all that. The two houses were their mansion in New York, and their mansion in Washington, DC. The latter was needed because Hillary had just been elected Senator, and needed a place to stay when Congress was in session.

That’s the kind of broke she’s talking about, that they were stretched financially to afford two mansions. Sheesh.....

I’ve been in that bookstore. The owner is known locally as a famous children’s book writer who donated one of his homes to a neighbor whose home was hit by a small plane until the family’s own was repaired. It’s an open-area, arty, modern shop with bare wooden floors and a snack area of really poor food, set in a building that for decades seemed doomed to destruction. Originally seemed to be a VERY old and unattractive store that was boarded up but never sold. The claim was that they couldn’t refurbish, so used some of the old wood in the new remodeling. The bookstore just got far less attractive to visit.
