Feb. 5 (UPI) -- SAG- and Tony-winning actor John Mahoney died in Chicago at the age of 77, his publicist announced Monday.
The publicist confirmed to TMZ Mahoney's death in hospice care Sunday. No cause was specified in the report.
As you might suspect, I am very sad.
I love that show. Have all eleven years on DVD.
Loved him in Barton Fink. That movie was weirdly great.....

OMG! I was just watching 2 eps today before work!

If you rule out watching productions in which one of the main characters is a “flamer,” you won’t watch many TV shows or movies. Of course, that’s not necessarily a bad thing in itself.
I LOVE that episode! Yes, I love the laughing out loud from the other room, and the irony!
For my money, “Merry Christmas, Mrs. Moskowitz” is the best 22 minutes of television ever produced. And Frasier was the finest sitcom every made.
My favorite TV dog, though there were two who played the role from what I read.
IMO it was the best written and funniest situation comedy on TV.
My favorite episode! That’s the one where Frasier brings home the handsome new guy from the radio station for Dauphine and it turns out he’s gay. Brilliant story. Loved all the characters but Niles was my favorite.
I loved how Frasier and Eddie would have the stare downs.
We watch it on Netflix. One of the funniest shows ever.
He was great as the fast-talking editor in “The Hudsucker Proxy.”
After all those deaths, I think he was raised by his grandfather, a military man. Probably why he leans right politically.
