Daughter in law went to visit her high school friend who runs an orphanage in Jinja, Uganda (the source of the Nile where it flows out of Lake Victoria). She had to have about a dozen vaccinations before she went. Uganda wasn’t as bad as she thought; they had a Mexican and Chinese restaurant in Jinja. Plenty of Beefeater gin, too. But the roads were dirt, no traffic control, the electricity was spotty, she could only drink bottled water and was advised to not leave the orphanage without an escort.
Other than that, bungee jumping over the Nile River gorge and avoiding the crocs was pretty fun.
