So you strangle someone and it can plead as only “manslaughter” rather than murder???

Strangulation with a belt would seem to be an ironclad case of intentional homicide, i.e., murder. You can’t do it accidentally.

She plead to manslaughter, Prosecutor got her in jail. Maybe they had a weak case, so gave her that offer.

Reminds me of a friend of a friend. Was 22 years old, and charged with child molestation. Prosecutor offered a deal if he admitted guilt, he would get 20 years in the clink. But for whatever he was accused of, he would get life if found guilty in a trial.

I have no idea if the guy was guilty or not. He said he was not guilty, and wanted to take it to trial. So he did. Jury found him guilty, and so he is currently serving life behind bars.

Again, no idea if he truly was guilty or not. But he made a potentially 35 year decision, and lost.
