some dumb lez stuff
Your numbers are complete bullish!t. 13% of the U.S. population is NOT murdered every year.
In fact, all of you so-called crime rates are off by two or more orders of magnitude.
Numbers I found were about 5 per 100,000 in the USA and 2.5 per 100,000 in Canada.
That was murder. Rape was about 27.3 versus 1.7. That is quite a difference. I wonder if theys a difference in categorizing at work there.
“Murder rate per 100,000 people...USA..12,996..”
LOL - You might want to revisit those “statistics”. Pretty sure that 13 percent of Americans aren’t murdered every year. (nor do 85% percent of us get raped)
You know it
Wrong. Those are “raw” numbers, i.e., total incidents of such crimes in a year.... NOT the “rate”....
you can see the difference between raw counts and “rate” (per 100,000) here:
https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2016/crime-in-the-u.s.-2016/tables/table-11
(somewhat different numbers than your source, but this is what the FBI reported for the USA in 2016)
See my #27, commenter (or his source) mixed up raw total incidents with “rate”....
Thanks.
A key part of the equation: what is Canada’s black population percentage? As a group, U.S. blacks are off-the-charts violent, killing at a rate six or seven times that of non-blacks. Only 13 percent of the population, they manage to do over half the killing. Canada’s lower violent crime figure can be explained in large measure by their having less of this highly violent group.
I agree. Let’s compare apples to apples.
Remove the hispanics and blacks and muslims and see where we stand.
I’d bet the murder rates would be similar if this correction was applied.
Seven years?!? Wow.....
2.5% and most of those families have been here for 150 years plus. Lots of time to be integrated.
I live in a city that lies 1 mile from downtown Detroit. The black population here is 4.9%. There are no black ghettos. We recently went 27 months without a homicide with a metro population of almost 300,000. People here did not consider it such a big deal.
you too!
you were the one that popped off ..here are the stats I based my comments on...if you have different data ...post it or pull your panties out of your butt crack

Really? Remarkable? Forensics 101, eh?
42.01 murders per MILLION people (the statistic at the link) is a far cry from 12,996 murders per HUNDRED THOUSAND people (which is the figure you provided in Post #20).
12,996/100,000 = 0.12996, which rounds to 0.13, which is the same as 13%. I'll say it again: There is NO WAY that 13% of the U.S. population gets murdered every year.
Would you stop and think about the meaning of the word “rate” in this context? You need to understand the numbers you are posting.
The numbers you posted in #20 are wrong. Your source is wrong to use the word “rate” when posting raw (total) numbers, i.e., if they claim 12,996 murders in a year in the USA that is not the “rate” per 100,000 that is the total number of murders.
The very next line has them saying the “rate” is 42.01 per million people (4.2 per 100,000 people).
your source:
Murders per million people 42.01
Ranked 43th. 3 times more than Canada
