I would not laugh. My home town, a republican stronghold took a huge hit in the last election. Though local, the democrat candidate for TAX COLLECTOR got more votes than the very popular first selectman.
the board of estimate and taxation went democratic. 25% of the local town council is now pussy hat liberals.
