If any of you take a biologic ie: Embril, you must get a flu shot and if possible a pneumonia shot.

Except, this year, they may have missed the boat with the main vaccine. Apparently, the vaccine for the 2017/2018 flu season was only about 10% effective in Australia, and they're guessing that it's going to be the same way here.

“Thomas’ brother, Anthony Oxley, believed she had gotten a flu shot, but was not sure.”

Why the Hell hasn’t Gov Brown banned the flu?

Its a bad one. Although I am semi retired, I have always worked out in the woods-logger. And these seem to lay us low for some reason.

My niece's boyfriend took their daughter in for a flu shot on Friday. The doctor recommended two shots to cover more influenza strains. The daughter is two years old. Three days later she's admitted to the hospital via urgent care with a 103 degree persistent fever. Diagnosis of influenza confirmed. Don't tell me you can't get sick from the flu shot; I see it happen frequently. And now a two year old is being watched for seizures because of it. Pharmaceutical companies need to get out of doctoring just like lobbyists need to get out of governing. The bad outweighs the good.

>>There is no universal flu vaccine.

Having a functional immune system that identifies and neutralizes invaders without getting tricked into killing the host is far from universal.

That would be the selection part of Natural Selection.

People don't seem to realize that what they search for in medicine (vaccination included) is the middle of the X on the chart.

Too strong and it will harm those given it.

Too weak and it will do no good.

So they try to hit where is is strong enough to do the most good and weak enough to do the least damage.

But because everyone is different there are always people and germs that fall outside those boundaries.

And then you add allergies and decreased or increased sensitivities.

Until we develop a way to make personalized medications for everyone we will have to settle for what does the greatest good for the greatest number.

What does having a husband have to do with this?

It’s something I observed. Healthy marathon runner mom of three, does yoga, eats fruits and nuts, dies suddenly from the flu. What about her husband? None mentioned in her obituary. A mom of three without a husband is often a stressed woman. (A mom of three with a husband is often a stressed woman! Hah)

Really, I just noticed that there was no mention of a significant other, so I looked up her obituary which did not mention a father to the three children. It’s very sad that the three will not have their mama around anymore.
