I absolutely despise Windows 10. Finally got my old Windows 7 fixed and disconnected the new Windows 10 computer. I’d do an Elvis on it if I could afford to. It comes with none of the extras like Word or Solitaire or any of the old freebies (waiting for someone to pronounce they never were free in 3, 2, 1). But the real problem is you can’t find a bleepin’ thing once you download it and if you can it’s full of ads that won’t go away and let you get to the program. Any thing you want to do, you have to have an app or something. Of course, it won’t play any of your old games.
Wish I could buy 2 Windows XP, an heir and a spare or six.
I have Windows 10 pro 64 bit, thanks be to God, which is the result of a 29.00 upgrade a few years ago from XP to Windows 8 (see FR post or here ) , which allowed me to move it to another (higher grade) PC, which then provided a free upgrade to W/8.1, and then a free upgrade to to Win/ 10, and which because original upgrade was considered retail, allowed me to transfer that to a higher grade PC (4.2GHZ 4 core CPU, 6 GB ram) thank God.
l and get no ads (nd play no games), and i looks much like Win. 7. And I use the Blocking Unwanted Connections with a Hosts File - MVPS HOSTS file which prevents most ads, etc. .
How: First, get the free, well tested, no malware http://www.classicshell.net/ and choose Classic under Style, and there are plenty of other settings.
Also Right Click Context Menu Extender can be of help. Other helps can be had, by God's grace. Just ask.
