What's your favorite old T.V. show theme song?

Use to be some great shows on T.V. back in the day.

That Partridge Family song sucks, but no disrespect.

At least they tried.

Or the Tom Slick theme song:

Tom Slick.
Tom Slick.
Let me tell you why,
He’s the best of all good guys.

Tom Slick
Tom Slick
In the Thunderbolt Grease Slapper once he’s on your tail
He won’t quit because you know there’s no such word as fail to
Tom Slick
Tom Slick!

I recall a story about how that theme was incredibly hard for the brass to play. The composer came up with it in like a week and the orchestra just hammered on it until they got it right.

Hill St Blues....can still ‘see’ Joyce Davenport (Veronica Hamil) ......

Bout as good as Kim Novak in ‘Picnic’

and

Bo Derek in ‘10’

I KNOW TV SHOWs...just making comparison <: <:

I really can't explain why it caught my fancy, I always just liked it. But you are very correct in the difficulty in playing it.

I love the JQ main theme, too. There’ll never be another show or tune quite like it.

I am sure someone else has posted it but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Route 66. Possibly the greatest theme of all time.

Victory at Sea is probably what pushed me over the edge in deciding to enlist in a Navy officer program. This was during Vietnam and before the lottery, so as I finished college I could wait for the draft or listen to the music in my head and remember what I had seen. I was homeported out of Yokosuka and probably spent the better part of a year in Vietnam and over a year at sea.

We fought the Vietnam war with a lot of WW II ship, so I saw and operated with CA’s, DD’s, LFR’s, LST’s, and so many other acronyms.

Nearly every time I took over the bridge watch I would hear Richard Roger’s theme.
