Is Your Child Lying to You? That’s Good
New York Times ^ | JAN. 5, 2018 | ALEX STONE

Why do some children start lying at an earlier age than others? What separates them from their more honest peers? The short answer is that they are smarter.

You can speed up the process. Training children in executive functioning and theory of mind using a variety interactive games and role-playing exercises can turn truth-tellers into liars within weeks, Professor Lee has found. And teaching kids to lie improves their scores on tests of executive functioning and theory of mind. Lying, in other words, is good for your brain.

The first lie: “Daddy, I was getting a cookie for you.”

In other words, under the logic of this article, spanking your children makes them smarter.

Or viewed from another angle, fear of physical punishment is more of an encouragement to lie one’s way out of trouble than if the fear were not present.

Last time the media said lying was good, it was just when Bill Clinton was about to be exposed.

This time they’re probably looking at what’s about to hit Deep State and are trying to provide cover.

In my military days, a power generator failed and power to the facility was lost. A co-worker asked if I knew what causes the generator to fail, and I looked him steadily in the eye and told him a giant snake had gotten into the generator.

When I say him the next day, he asked me how I did it.

“Did what?” I asked.

He had always believed that it was impossible to look someone in the eye and lie. I like to think I ‘woke’ someone up that day.

“What did you do in the ISIS war, daddy?”
“I was a suicide bomber, honey.”
“But you’re still alive.”
“It’s harder than it looks.”

You caught the key point of the article.

An honest person would have read the study, picked up on “children who don’t peek at the toy in the first place are actually the smartest of all, but they are a rarity,” and asked how to make that outcome more common.

A journalist at the nation’s premium #FakeNews source reads the study and picks up on “why do some children start lying at an earlier age . . . the short answer is that they are smarter” and asks if teaching them to lie makes them score higher on IQ tests.

I’m sure it makes them feel better about the example they are setting for their children and about the work they do at the NY Times. Besides, lying makes them better liars, which makes them smarter. That’s what matters, isn’t it?

This is garbage.

But it reminds me of a comment made about Barack Obama. Dead on accurate.

Obama lies like a child lies. When he would be better served telling the truth - he still lies.

This is made up because they lie daily on the news. They’re trying to make themselves look smart again and failing.

Lying is good. This must be true, since it comes direct from the NY Times. (Sarcasm filter fully engaged.)

No media agendas in the US, no sir.
Unlike in the United States, where the press is perceived as a watchdog, in Italy it is perceived as driven by political agendas.

So perceiveth the agenda-free New York Times.

No wonder they think Obola is so smart. What I don’t get, though, is that they think President Trump is a dumb liar, which contradicts their theory.
