What type of cell phone do you own?

I have an iPhone and am thinking about trying some other brand.

What do you own? Are you happy with it?

I’m thinking about using Walmart’s Straight Talk. Any experience with this?

Would I be better off staying with my iPhone?

Get a Motorola product and don't look back.

Motorola has been in the personal comms business a looooong time and knows what they are about.

I have owned nothing but Motorola cell phones since I bit the bullet and got my first one, and while my wife has gone through iPhones, Samsung and one other brand I don't recall - and has broken them all (yeah - she's hard on stuff) - meanwhile I have dropped, kicked, submerged in one case, my phones without problems.
The only time I have replaced a phone is when they stopped supporting it (CDMA for instance).

Comparing Android to Apple is almost like comparing apples to bananas <grin>. Apple products are popular because they "just work"; Android gives you much more flexibility in terms of available apps, and what those apps can do.

I personally have used both, but choose Android. The technology is better overall, and it is usually ahead of Apple in terms of how modern the hardware is in the phone.

Lumia 950. Great phone and OS. I plan to keep it as long as it functions. Hopefully it makes it long enough to replace with a 'Surface phone' or whatever MS calls their new ultra-mobile PC with telephony capabilities.

My work phone is a Droid. NOT a good phone at all - bad battery life, can't even scroll without stuttering (and that's after a wipe and clean reinstall).

I have a Nexus 6 that was my son’s cast off so I got it for free. I have Sprint solely because I get an employee discount from my previous employer. I retired in 2001 and am still getting the discount. The Nexus 6 is OK but a little too big. But hey it was free.

I only used them for calls.

We had the Samsung S-7 Edge for two years and really liked them, along came the S-8 plus and we upgraded to it. So far we are very pleased with the new phones and have no problems with Verizon.

Check out Best Buy as their prices are quite a bit lower than Verizon or the others. Also, T-Mobile has an ad for BOGO.

I use my phone heavily for calls and texts. I also run my work software partially off my phone. I love my iPhone and wouldn’t use anything else. It is easy to use and works well. In addition most apps including my work software was designed for and just works better on IOS. Now that I can put Firefox on it I’m even happier. Battery life is solved by a 99$ accessory case with an additional battery. It probably boils down to how much you use your phone, which operating system you are comfortable with and what apps you need to run.

I stand corrected. I am on to an LG Stylo 3 plus, I think it is.

All the better—in practicality as good as a G4, but cheaper, still has the removable batteries, and of course the stylus.

I own a ZTE Axon 7 which I picked up new for about $ 370 on Amazon Prime back in July after my Moto X bit the dust after 2 years or service.

Excellent phone. I use it with Cricket, which uses AT&T towers for it’s calls and data. It’s very reliable. For $ 35 a month (complete, no additional fees or taxes), I get 5GB LTE data (throttled to about 128k after 5GB, fairly unusable) and unlimited calls and texts.

I never go above 3GB of data a month as I am usually on wifi at home and at the office.

I used to have Straight Talk and I liked it very much, but was paying about $ 47 for unlimited talk, text, and 5GB LTE data on the AT&T network. Cricket uses the same AT&T network for $ 12 less a month.

If you’re not a high user of data, they’re very good deals. I can recommend both Straight Talk and Cricket highly.

I had the same deal of iPhone from work and Android personally, and I could not stand the authoritarian style of the iPhone.

Somehow the biggest lemmings of the worlds seem to think they are “creative” for using such.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Activ....Great phone , few bugs but I think they are related to all my work apps (full office suite, other crm apps, authentication, etc) which really is a huge load for a phone-—a few years ago my laptop couldn’t handle the amount of stuff I have on my phone now.

I’ve had straighttalk for years. It’s been great - unlimited everything for $45/mo no contract, great coverage (same as AT&T)

I use a Motorola Pure X. Very happy with it and much cheaper than iPhone.

I’m new to FR, so please pardon my ignorance, but what exactly is an “entry level” cell phone. Never heard that term before. Am curious to know what an “expert” or “professional level” cell phone looks like, where would I purchase one and what features they include. Do they make cappuccino, do dishes and laundry or yardwork for you, too? ;-)
