While I agree whole-heartedly with your thoughts, I must protest the abuse of the word 'liberal' when the obvious usage should be 'LEFTist' or some variant thereof! The LEFT has suborned the use of 'liberal' but the classic definition of the word is as far from the LEFTist usage as it is possible to get;
tolerant, unprejudiced, unbigoted, broad-minded, open-minded, enlightened; permissive, free, free and easy, easygoing, libertarian, indulgent, lenient. ANTONYMS narrow-minded, bigoted. Thesaurus #1 Entry
While I grant that I dislike 'permissive' in the above, every other match is antithetical to the current LEFTist usage.
YES, I may be akin to King Knut in telling the tide to recede at his command, but I will not go down without a valiant fight with my flag still flying!
