The Carolina Panthers will be up for sale following the 2017 season, with Jerry Richardson announcing his intention to put the team on the market when Carolina's last game ends. Although Richardson did not address the NFL's investigation into alleged workplace misconduct, it is clear why Richardson would be moving on after more than 20 years of being the face of the franchise. At least one potential buyer has already emerged, and he is promising big things. And it would be a different type of owner than you are used to seeing, because Diddy wants to buy the "North Carolina Panthers." The rapper/producer/mogul tweeted on Sunday afternoon that he is interested in the franchise and wants to become the first African-American majority owner of an NFL team.

“Let us know how that works out for you, Diddy.”
If Diddy can raise the cash, and make the highest bid, the NFL will not say no.
I know nothing about “behind closed doors” NFL, but I’m not sure, but the league might bite on this one. The current NFL owners appear to be pretty stupid on how to deal with the current kneeling problem and might want Ditty to come onboard to show how inclusive they are.
If they don’t let him in, the next thing you know is the headline, “See? See? They are racist.”
One problem, Ditty Panthers will go down the drain the minute he signs Kapernick. Gotta smile.
He can't do that, it would infringe on Learner's trademark with the Browns and his new 5 year plan. (Which is basically the same as the previous 5 year plan just with more kneeling)
“If they dont let him in, the next thing you know is the headline, See? See? They are racist.
Spot on.
And Diddy knows that.
Kaepernick doesn't want to be a back up. He wants to be a "star".
But, hey. It's Diddy's money. He can throw it away however he chooses.
Ditto.

Go for it! Let's finish off the twitching corpse of the NFL.
Oh, the hip-hop community is jumping on the “destroy football” commie bandwagon.
NFL out of the USA.
Do it! Please, oh, please, oh, please, oh, pleeeeeeeeease do it!
Tweet away. The other 31 owners wont touch you with a barge pole.
Are you kidding? They’ll roll out the red carpet for him. The progressive corportist NFL owners will be falling over each other trying to get a minority owner in the league.
Did he really call them the North Carolina Panthers? He must have, it’s in quotes.
He immediately alienated all the South Carolina fans. The name is Carolina Panthers, not North Carolina Panthers. DiDi is a dodo.
I hope it happens. A lot of heels stand to be seriously wounded.
Double tank. Not only would the Carolina Panthers become a money hole and drain all Diddy’s available cash, the rehiring of Colin Kaepernick would assure that the NFL will lose whatever little reservoir of good will that still exists for the organization.
The Universe can be a cruel and exacting taskmaster, imposing justice for the one crime that never goes unpunished, willful stupidity.
Broncos pic up Cam!
double dog dare him!
‘double dog dare him!’
You could stop it by putting in a competitive bid for the team.
That’s hilarious. It would be great, a step for mankind towards full Idiocracy.
Read ‘The League’ by David Harris. It’s outdated in terms of the cast of characters but still quite valid in terms of the jealousies, alliances and egos involved among the NFL owner fraternity.
NFL owners want nothing that will disrupt business on a large scale and they are utterly uninterested in making political statements, the Jaguars’ ownership under Khan notwithstanding. They want the cash and a nice quiet operation while Goodell fends off the questions.
As with Augusta National Golf Club membership, there are some who are acceptable and some who aren’t...and the ones who think they’re acceptable often aren’t.
There may be a scenario where minority ownership - in both percentage and ethnicity - will be permitted, even trumpeted as progress but control of the franchise will almost certainly remain within a very selective bunch.
Under a sealed-bid scenario the press would never get the full story.
And then the fans would flock to see the games?
