Americans pessimistic about Trump, country: AP-NORC Poll

President Donald Trump frequently casts his first year in office as a string of successes and campaign promises fulfilled. But less than a quarter of Americans think Trump has made good on the pledges he made to voters while running for president, according to a new poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Among Republicans, just half say Trump has kept his promises, which included vows to overhaul his predecessor’s health care law, withdraw the United States from a nuclear accord with Iran and invest millions in new projects to fix the nation’s aging infrastructure. None of those steps have been taken.

“Everything has stalled out,” said Mark Krowski, 37, an independent from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who leans Republican but didn’t vote for Trump last year.

As 2017 comes to a close, the majority of Americans painted a broadly pessimistic view of Trump’s presidency, the nation’s politics and the overall direction of the country. Just three in 10 Americans said the United States is heading in the right direction, and 52 percent said the country is worse off since Trump became president - worrisome signs both for the White House and Republicans heading into a midterm election year where control of Congress will be at stake. …

Nationwide hysteria used as a political tactic for a socialist coup. It's a sad state, indeed.

From The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48 :

  Hysteria \Hys*te"ri*a\, n. [NL.: cf. F. hyst['e]rie. See
     Hysteric.] (Med.)
A nervous affection, occurring almost exclusively in women,
in which the emotional and reflex excitability is
exaggerated, and the will power correspondingly diminished,
so that the patient loses control over the emotions, becomes
the victim of imaginary sensations, and often falls into
     paroxism or fits.
     [1913 Webster]

Note: The chief symptoms are convulsive, tossing movements of
the limbs and head, uncontrollable crying and laughing,
and a choking sensation as if a ball were lodged in the
throat. The affection presents the most varied
symptoms, often simulating those of the gravest
diseases, but generally curable by mental treatment
           alone. Hysteric

All polls are based on probability.

Most of those people thought everything was wonderful when Obama was president since media coverage was positive. Now they think everything is bad because all of the coverage is negative.

These respondents sound a lot like some of our Pearl Clutchers on Free Republic, who never post anything positive about our president.

Yep. It’s all pretty simple to me. All he can do without cooperation is slow it down a little. And as soon as there are Dems in control again....Tally Ho!

This article demonstrates the still-extant, corrosive, corrupt power of the mainstream media.

Yep. POTUS needs a TV commercial blitz with his accomplishments, because noway in this economy with consumer confidence through the roof, can these numbers be anything other than people falling for propaganda from the DNC media complex.

No; it’s in the headline, where it says “AP-NORC poll”. If AP was not bad enough, the so-called National Opinion Research Center of the University of Chicago ought to blow all credibility sky high automatically.

They have confused Pres. Trump’s effort’s to fulfill his campaign promises to Mitch McConnell refusing to bring up the House’s bills sent to the Senate and rejecting efforts to repeal ACA . About 300 at last count. I’l bet they will find some way to torpedo the tax bill.

Well that’s certainly could be another explanation when you read one person saying seems like “everything stalled”.
However is POTUS to blame?
Nope.

The U.S. economy is so BAD that everywhere I drive around my home town and environs I see sign after sign that announce loudly “HELP WANTED’
“WE’RE HIRING’
“POSITIONS OPEN”
Didn’t see those during the “WONDERFUL” Obama era.

There’s always a way. If there were no way, then Hillary would be POTUS.

Re
“Americans pessimistic about Trump, country: ...”
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
IF there is even a speck of truth anywhere in the above, it reflects that Real Americans (NOT AINOs) love POTUS.45 Donald Trump, BUT they see what he’s up against (Re TEW!)
++++++++++++++++++
One of the reasons I’m for Mr. “Cocked and Locked” to change his image from Joe “SixPak” to Eastwood,Duke Wayne, Etc. Get rid of that silly ball-cap and wear a black fedora like the Sam Spades, Phillip Marlowes, American BadAsses of the past!

Wide Brim Black Fedora, down in front and back...call it “The Deplorable”!
Stick an American Flag Pin On it...if you can find one!
(Tried to buy one @ WalMart the other day!)
Told me they no longer carried them—I was reluctant to ask what they had replaced it with!
Came home and searched the net—they were right, even the WM site shows it as no longer available....???

So! Yes, the pessimism is there! Rightfully so! We voted for Trump.45, but he’s largely on his own in SwampLand! he knows it AND The American People know it!

Semper TRUMP.45...IF We Can Keep Him!
Dick Gaines aka: Gunny G @ Planet WTF!
