Thanks. I’ll look for it. Skyrim is available in Virtual Reality now. I’d love to try it out ‘cause I’m not laying out five hundred dollars for something I won’t like. There don’t seem to be any demonstrators.

Hadn’t heard that about 3d Skyrim. I know the remastered version’s graphics were incredible. I’ll wait to hear my Bro-in-law’s verdict on the 3d. He’s a complete technophile and a IT supervisor for a school district in CA. I can just imagine how great flight sims and games like skyrim will be in the very near future.

Imagine that we’re going upstairs to get our keys and forget that it is the keys we came for as soon as we enter the bedroom. Psychologically, what has happened is that the plan (“Keys!”) has been forgotten even in the middle of implementing a necessary part of the strategy (“Go to bedroom!”).

She loved them, and frankly so do I. Want to spend an evening as a Victorian detective in London, assembling clues, sorry, "clews", running down the villain? Agatha Christie? Her favorite was chasing down Sweeny Todd, the Demon of Fleet Street. It's that sort of thing. Lots of mental stimulation, highly recommended.
Don’t believe this. Playing games of any kind, keeping your brain engaged, does NOTHING to prevent Alzheimer’s. Diet, exercise, exposure to chemicals, all might play a part, but those in my family were smart and always deeply engaged in life, games or other complex problem solving and study. Alzheimer’s took its toll anyway.
Since you all seem to know your way around game consoles; which one is the best? X-Box? Sony Play Station? I imagine it depends on what kind of games I’d like to play. I guess first person shooter. Space pilot with firing ability. What about used systems? Is it best to stay away from them or are they okay if they work?
Recommending “Combat Mission” in any of its versions (WWII Theaters and Modern ME theaters) - strategy, planning, and chance as well as map design all played out in real time or by turn in a near realistic 3-D environment with weapons and vehicles designed and functioning as real weapons do. You can either go with a planned scenario, modify it, or make your own - if you wish to re-create some battle it would be advisable to read up in detail about the actual battle.

I find console controllers a pain to use. A keyboard and trackball mouse work best for me.

Hehe...in this vein, I read a good joke here on FR last week;
An elderly woman had a 50'ish neighbor who would assist her with tasks too difficult for her to manage.
One day the woman called him and asked for some assistance.
"What's the matter dear?"
Well, I'm having a devil of a time with a new crossword puzzle. Do you have time to help me get it started?"
"Absolutely. I'll be right over."
A few minutes later he knocked on the door and entered per his usual habit when he visited. He entered and said, "Hello? Where are you dear?"
"In the kitchen!" she called out.
The man entered the kitchen and asked, "So where is this devilish crossword puzzle?"
"On the kitchen table" she replied. "I think it is supposed to be a picture of a rooster".
The man walked over to the table and looked at the assorted pieces sitting next to the box. He shook his head and said, "The first thing we do is get you a nice cup of tea, I'll make it." As he was headed toward the stove to put the kettle on, he said, "The next thing we do is to put all these Corn Flakes back in the box."
I'm the same way! No one will play chess with me except my wife after I've had a few cocktails. She's pretty good.
But I absolutely suck at checkers. Just can't figure it.
