Hard to judge a team based on their bowl performance.
Face it, a top-level SEC Team just isn’t going to be all that inspired in playing a non-playoff bowl game. I’ve seen it too many times. Alabama against Utah, Florida vs Louisville, they just don’t care.
Money...money...money....mon-—ey! You’re absolutely correct. It’$ a joke now...let the poor kids rest their bodies and learn that success can occur in other fields of endeavour..
The dirty secret is a lot of schools actually lose money on going to these bowl games, when the expenses are factored in.
bump
The NFL guys who are evaluating talent might have an opinion...
So your senior year, your team went to the big bowl game, to play youknowwho, and you opted not to, your own self... whassupwiddat?
Define "Big Bowl Game"...The Poulan Weedeater Bowl?
Say wha...?
But it does help with recruiting.
Maybe in the past, but I don’t think it matters as much now.
Two bowls in Friso, Texas - the DXL bowl and the National Championship for the Division 1 FCS.
One bowl in Dallas - the Zaxby’s “Not the Cotton Bowl” played in the Cotton Bowl
One bowl in Arlington - the Goodyear “Cotton Bowl” not played in the Cotton Bowl
One bowl in Fort Worth - the Lockheed Martin Bowl.
5 bowl games in one metro area.
Of course, Atlanta has 3 -
The AFRican Celebration Bowl, the National Championship, and the Chick-fil-a Bowl
I will give credit for the most aptly named bowl game for football players - the Bad Boys bowl in St. Pete. One of two in that metro area.
One bowl in Fort Worth - the Lockheed Martin Bowl.
Actually the metropolis of Arlington. Best known as the largest city in the country without public transit because the billionaires want to charge folks for parking at the stadiums.
Yep, bowl games are located where the recruits are, I just don’t think it’s all that effective.
No, honestly I was thinking of a certain DL on our team who pulled that one before our game with... who was it...
Mighta been Clemson two years ago. We lost, and there are those who say that he, the aforementioned DL, cost himself in the draft. Don’t know if he’s still in the NFL or not.
LSU gonna eat dem Irish Cher
So does Orgy Island.
I was about to answer that, and saw you already had.
We’ll be there next year.
